Your vacation home is on the southern tip of Vancouver Island on the Saanich Peninsula on the westside of the Peninsula in the prestigious area of Deep Cove in North Saanich. This area is a mix of waterfront properties with plenty of public access trails to local beaches; farms and organic growers with many farm stands to get locally grown veggies, flowers or farm fresh lamb, chicken/duck, farm fresh eggs, beef, local wild seafood. We stock the home with current local maps, tourist attractions, take-out menus, local newspaper, hiking maps, Galloping Goose Trail System, Golf Course information, Sports Equipment rentals w/ pricing where available. We want you to spend your time enjoying your holiday, not figuring it out.

We want your arrival to be a positive experience so we meet you at the home to check-in, tour the home, ensure everything is in working order, as well as go over the operation, answer questions and accommodate any special needs if we can. We respect your privacy and limit our visits to care-take the gardens, take away refuse, and if needed will arrange for daily or weekly cleaning service. We want you to feel at home while at the same time we are available at a moments notice to remedy any unforeseen issues that may arise. I have lived in Deep Cove for over 30 years where I built the home you will stay in and know the area extensively. I can assure guests that they will enjoy the many hiking trails; public beaches and bike paths to unwind and relax. The pace of life is what makes Island living the draw to our millions of visitors. If you prefer the night life of the city you are a 30 minute drive from downtown Victoria.

What makes this house unique

Our vacation rental is spacious yet has a cozy feel where you will love to kick back and relax. The home sets itself apart from others with a bridge to house rather than the standard driveway. You have two decks; the south west deck is free of traffic and people with ocean view and changing landscape of trees; hills and westcoast homes. At night the lights twinkle across the water from the gated community named Arbutus Ridge.

Notes:
For those who enjoy farm to table we have farm raised beef; lamb; chickens as well as many local growers of organic vegetables. Every Saturday during the "peak" season we have a local farmers market on the grounds of the Church - a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive. Sidney during the summer months hosts a street market every Thursday evening featuring locally grown food; artisan foods; local crafts/art; and merchants participate with street tables/booths; along with many food vendors serving wild caught salmon burgers and ethnic meals. Sidney by the Sea has all the amenities of the city, for book lovers you have several book stores to mooch around. 20 Minutes by vehicle and you are at the world famous Buchart Gardens. Victoria is a 30 minute drive to take in the sights and activities of the city. For your convenience many "brochures" are in your guest guide to plan your outings around famous sights and current events.

A beautiful home away from home.

We really enjoyed staying at this lovely, spacious vacation home with the wonderful view of the ocean. The open concept floor plan on the main level with so many windows allowed for lots of natural light and great views. Everything was so immaculate and beautifully decorated with lovely towels and linens. We also really appreciate preparing meals in the exceptionally well-stocked kitchen with such a great working space. Jo-anne is very warm and friendly and provided some extra special touches of wine and fruit when we checked in. We were so impressed with everything and have decided to book next year to be sure we are able to return.

Excellent!

The location was perfect, beautiful and quiet. The owner Jo-Anne was very friendly and helpful. We went to the near-by beach daily and saw bald eagles and otters! Deer were frequent dinner guests. The kitchen was large and well equipped. The king bed in the master was very comfortable. The home was very clean. We highly recommend this home!

The Very Best There Is.

Our two month stay in Jo-Anne's beautiful house was sublime. Everything is perfect; from the wonderful bed (which cured my back problem) to the amazing kitchen which is so wonderfully stocked with every kitchen aid you can imagine.

I arrived with the flu and usually the only place you want to be when you are sick is in your own home and bed. Well, I felt at home and was very grateful for the beautiful sheets and lovingly decorated home.

The house is immaculate and I really don't know how Jo-Anne keeps it thus. Everything from the freshness of the paintwork down to the kitchen equipment; it was as though we were the first people in the house. Fresh plants were through the house and some wine and nibbles to greet us.

November and December were the coldest and snowiest months for decades, yet we were as warm as could be as there is an efficient forced air system and a beautiful gas fireplace. Jo-Anne even offered to decorate the home with Christmas decorations if we had so wished. Before the snow arrived, Jo-Anne arrived with salt to sprinkle on the drive way - what service.

The view is beautiful and it must be heavenly in the summer.

I wish I could give it a six star rating as it is perfection. Thank you Jo-Anne.

AS GOOD AS IT GETS

We stayed in Jo-Anne's home from July 25th to September 3rd, 2016. As we arrived a few minutes early, we had the pleasure of meeting Jo- Anne as she was making sure everything would be just right for us. We went out for a quick lunch and returned to an absolutely immaculate home, fresh flower arrangements and a bottle of wine from the winery just down the street. We found the home to be completely stocked from the cleaning supplies, to great pots, pans and ample dishes, silverware and glasses. The furniture in the living and dining area was very comfortable and arranged nicely for TV viewing. The bedrooms were beautifully done with very comfy mattresses and linens. The layout was perfect for two couples, each bedroom with a bathroom and great privacy.

As we like to grill, we used the gas grill on the deck numerous times with great results. Like the house, the grill was immaculate and very easy to use. From the deck there is a beautiful bay view which resulted in numerous colorful sunsets. In a word, the house was wonderful and it was only exceeded by the extent to which Jo-Anne and Fred worked to accommodate our requests and needs. We have stayed in many VRBO's over the years but, to date, this was the best by far and the most like home.

The gold standard of VBRO stays

My wife, daughter and I spent nine wonderful days in Jo-Anne's house. It was magical. Jo-Anne is the ideal property owner. She takes care of the home in a way I wish all VBRO homeowners did. It was immaculate when we arrived. And there were luxury and personal touches throughout, from the welcome basket to the type of soap she chooses for the bathrooms. You can tell she puts a lot of thought into the experience her guests receive. And she cared about making sure our experience was perfect.

We loved the location of the house. It was close to the island Ferries and Sidney, and though driving into Victoria for dinner took 30 min, it was a nice relaxing drive on the highway.

Best of all, the home is in a quiet and relaxing area with sheep nearby, and deer and raccoons closer. The view was beautiful with amazing sunsets most nights.

We had a great time and give our sincere thanks and respect to Jo-Anne for ensuring that our lodging in Canada was perfect. It was a load off of our minds.

We stayed at Jo-Anne's home for a month from mid April to mid May 2016. Our stay was superb. The home was bright, very clean and spacious. The home provided all the comforts of your own home with a lovely view of the ocean. Our host was friendly and helpful in many ways, including providing advice on things to do, where to find bikes and kayaks and local golf courses. She also solved a few household problems when they arose. We would highly recommend this rental property and would return in an instant.
