Perfect in every way
We are so grateful to have spent Christmas and new year in this amazing house. It has everything you could possibly need and more. The added personal touches were much appreciated. We have stayed at many “pet friendly” places in Tasmania and this is the best by far. The yard is fully enclosed and my houdini dog Indy could not get out. Perfect location, beautiful home and fantastic host. We can’t wait to return 😀

Awesome holiday
Such a fantastic property with great features, excellent outdoor area with bbq, plenty of comfortable seating outside creating a relaxing space with lots of things for the kids to do and look at. Beds were super comfortable and the decor is really well put together. Plenty of personal touches that really helped us feel at home. Great kitchen facilities and all the usual mod cons as well as google home hub - kept us entertained! Ideally situated to visit the beaches, which are beautiful and it’s not far to Cygnet for a bit of shopping. I highly recommend this amazing holiday rental!

About the host

Host profile image
My background is in Arts Management & I love renovation & interior design. I found Three Beaches in 2017 & transformed her from an unloved, languishing shack to a stylish, comfortable & tranquil retreat near the beach. She has responded beautifully to some TLC & I know she is loving her journey from plain Jane to the best dressed girl in the district! I like travel, good food & spending time with my family & look forward to seeing more of the world. I am a self-confessed people pleaser & local expert on the stunning Hobart & Huon Valley

Why they chose this property

Three Beaches was a solidly built but unloved home which had been languishing on the market in spite of its lovely location just by the beach. She has responded beautifully to some TLC (tender loving care!) with a view to make her comfortable & liveable throughout the year rather than the occasional weekend. Given her industrial metallic exterior cladding & setting in the pastoral Huon Valley, it seemed natural to decorate her in a country industrial style & highlight her place in the agricultural heritage of the region. Original apple box labels decorate the wall artwork, as do scenes from local photographer Chris Cobern of Eggs & Bacon Bay, Randalls Beach, Kaoota, Cradoc, Huonville and Hobart landmarks including the Tasman bridge & Kelly's Steps.

Daily visits to the house from Kookaburras, Superb Fairy Wrens & Scarlet Robins & nightly appearances of marsupial Pademelons (small wallabies) & Possums. Quolls & Tassie Devils are common. Dolphins are frequently seen close to shore at nearby Verona Sands Beach. Randalls Bay is known as one of the world's best spots for Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) viewing.

What makes this property unique

Stylishly decorated to evoke the unique agricultural heritage of the Huon Valley, Three Beaches is a calming & private retreat suitable for couples, small groups & families. The superb entertaining area boasts dining area, barbecue, lounge, conversation nooks, king size bean bags, fire pit area, fountain, cute kids' sandbox & outdoor shower for washing sand off after the beach. Parents can relax knowing the rear yard is fully fenced & little ones are safe. Free Wi-fi & plenty of entertainment options with over 25 TV channels, TV programs on demand & movies via Freeview, as well as the free Spotify music library via Google Home, Chromecast to watch your device on the TV & some traditional DVDs, board games, cards & activity books.

A perfect launch pad to spectacular southern Tasmania, this home is a 50-minute drive from the state capital city Hobart, through some of the most picturesque scenery in Australia. Ideally placed to visit The Tahune Airwalk, Bruny Island, the D'Entrecasteaux Channel & Hastings Caves, it is an 11-minute drive to vibrant regional café, music & arts hub Cygnet township. The region is a Foodies paradise with apple & cherry orchards, strawberry, salmon, trout, pig, sheep, cattle & saffron farming, wineries & boutique cider, vodka & gin makers & a sheep farm & cheesery. Celebrity Chef, writer & star of the SBS TV series Gourmet Farmer (filmed in nearby Glaziers Bay) Matthew Evans has made the area famous for food lovers with his local Fat Pig Farm feasts, cookery classes & recipe books.

With picturesque winding roads descending from a panoramic view of Randalls Bay & the Hartz Mountains, through farms with grazing sheep & lambs down to three beautiful & distinctive beaches, it is little wonder Eggs & Bacon Bay is home to Australia’s most well-known Conservationist & former leader of the national Greens political party. The Lonely Planet describes the island state as “wild and dramatic, cultured and quirky, isolated yet accessible”
