About PATRICIA ROHOLT

I am a Minnesota native now living in California. I purchased this house in 2004 and completely renovated the outdoor living spaces and kitchen to create this warm and inviting home. I have traveled all over the US and to many countries around the world and find that nothing beats this home and this town especially in the summer months! I love to return to Minnesota each summer to enjoy my home and to visit family and friends. It is my goal to retire here sometime in the future - until then, I am happy to share my home with fellow travelers.

Why PATRICIA ROHOLT chose Excelsior

This location and home is my "dream home". I grew up in Bemidji, Minnesota on the lake and for me, nothing beats watching the boats come and go in the bay. I love the morning sunrise and evening sunsets and watching the sparkling water throughout the day! I enjoy having access to the town of Excelsior which has become a very active city with many restaurants, shops, entertainment venues all within walking distance. The access to biking and walking trails, summer farmers and flea market all add to the charm. In the winter months, guests will enjoy ice fishing and skating, snow mobiliing, cross country skiing, and the vibrant town of Excelsior.

What makes this house unique

I love the kitchen in this home as it has a great view of the lake and the active Port of Excelsior. The upper balcony off the master suite is a great place to relax and watch the boats come and go. Nothing beats morning coffee on the front garden patio and I have a wonderful perennial flower garden! Dunn Brothers coffee is just a block away as are a variety of stores for all kinds of shopping.

Great Get-together Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Great location - views of lake Minnetonka and within blocks of interesting restaurants and shops. Open concept living areas were perfect for spending time together. Sleeping accommodations were comfortable for our party of 4 girlfriends. Would definitely stay here again.

Lake cottage in downtown Excelsior

  • 2 of 5

This VRBO property is showing its age. While convenient to the lake and the quaint town's downtown shops and restaurants, the kitchen appliances, pots and pans and utensils are showing much wear and tear. The home is crowded with home decor items, such as plastic plants and heavy curtains which are dust collectors. The front steps do not have a railing making this property especially difficult for people with mobility issues. The interior lighting is dim, especially in the kitchen. One very positive thing we noted was an immediate response to a request. We arrived after a snowfall and requested the steps be cleaned and salted and a path cleared to the house from the sidewalk. The caregiver immediately completed these tasks. In addition we had another large snowstorm during our stay, and the caregiver once again cleared the sidewalk and the path to the car. What excellent service!

Wonderful location

  • 4 of 5

Overall, our stay was quite nice. The house was large enough for us to invite family over for food and football. The lighting is very dim and had several light bulbs out that we replaced. It should also be noted in the amenities that the washer and dryer are not available to guests.

The location of this home in downtown Excelsior cannot be beat---so walkable!!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay, and again, we were so impressed with the location. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything needed to cook up ;our holiday dinner. One of the neighbors was so kind to tell us about a snow emergency where we needed to move our car or it would have been towed!!!!!! The king, queen and day bed were fine, but I don't believe anyone but a small child could sleep on the pull out trundle bed. All in all, we had a wonderful stay, and would use this vrbo again.
