About this property

Spacious Mountain Cabin - Sleeps 10 comfortably!

This home has the cozy and comfy feel of a mountain cabin with beautiful décor and furniture to fit the mountain lifestyle. We have updated our cancellation policy to relaxed and require a day between departure and arrivals to allow for deep cleaning between each guest. With 4 bedrooms and bathrooms spread out over 3 floors, everyone has the space they need to get away and unwind. But there are also several family areas both indoors and outdoors for coming together for games, movies and activities that will build memories during your vacation.

Located in beautiful, scenic Beech Mountain, NC, this home has winter views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and is one mile from the ski slopes, golfing and hiking. Two great hikes begin from the end of our street, so you can walk there! In the summer, enjoy the cool mountain breezes (avg temps are 72 degrees!) while rocking on the porches or lying in the hammock. Play a game of horseshoes or cornhole with the family and by night, start a bonfire and make some s'mores! During winter, enjoy breathtaking views of this winter wonderland, play outside with the sleds we provide and then warm up by the fireplace indoors.

4 Bedrooms (3 are master suites), 4 baths (sleeps up to 14 people including the futon). The home includes: Pool table, theater room, Fireplace, Front Loading washer & dryer, 6 big screen TV's, toy closet, game room and wireless internet. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances. Bedding: 3 Queen, 2 double, 2 twin and one futon. Built in 2006 and renovated in 2010 when we purchased it, Our Father's House is beautifully decorated with hardwood floors, wood accents on walls and ceilings throughout the home and a large front and back porch with dining spaces. The home has a lot of parking. Driveway does have an incline and 4 wheel drive or chains is highly recommended in winter (if there is any snow or ice). Wildlife (deer) on the property daily. *Non-smoking and pet free*

A multitude of activities are located in the area. We have a full guide for you located in the house to help plan your daily activities once you arrive, and upon booking you will receive a guide to the area to help plan your vacation in advance. We have visited just about every site within a 2 hour radius of Beech Mountain, and we would love to share this information with you about activities, dining and shopping in this beautiful area of the country.

Many folks enjoy skiing at one of the three local ski resorts, the free sledding hill in town at Beech Mountain, and outdoor ice skating during the winter months. In the summer, white-water rafting and kayaking, as well as the new zip-line adventures are popular. And it's only a short 40 minute drive into Tennessee for even more fun activities! Local attractions include Tweetsie Railroad Theme Park, Grandfather Mountain, downtown Boone and Blowing Rock, Linville Falls and Caverns, Mast General Store, and many more places of interest. For those who love nature, in the spring, summer, and fall enjoy over 10 hiking trails on the mountain, area waterfalls, and trout fishing in many lakes and streams around.

Check in is at 4 pm and check out is at 11 am. Please inquire about the possibility of early check in or late check out to accommodate any special needs.

Amazing
Such a wonderful place. Snow, close to a lot of activities and restaurants and shops. Roads were maintained with salt and plows, but have a 4x4 or AWD. Couldn't get up driveway after one great snow, but didn't slow us down from having a great time. Thanks Jason,it was just as perfect as you described. Plenty of space and beds were comfortable. Could use a griddle for large orders of pancakes and bacon. All the instructions for Electronics were easy to follow . No problems and would love to do it again.

Best family vacation yet!
We had an amazing time in Banner Elk, the lodge is beautiful. Property manager was great to work with and very knowledgeable of the area and activities available throughout. Less than 5 min drive to the mountain. We would recommend this to any families with teenage children. Plenty of things to do inside and out.

Our Beech mountain house!
This house was perfect for our family! Our crew of five kids 7 and under and two adults loved it! All four kids stayed in the "kids" room and had a blast with the toys that were awaiting them in the loft closet! It's the little things that make a wonderful place to stay! We had plenty of room to play and my kids loved the big bathtub in the master sweet on the main floor! The owner was very helpful when we had a heating problem and was resolved quickly! He even checked the the next morning to see how everything was working! We all enjoyed the game room and the theater room! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals with. The view we're beautiful going up to the house and our kids enjoyed playing outside as well. For a flat lander like me those switch backs were quite fun and am glad my husband was driving! We love this house and all the memories we experienced tog! Thank you for sharing your house with us!

Vacation for 2 weeks
I want to say that communication with the property owner ws outstanding. We arrived and the central air and heat were not working and they immediately got someone to take care of this. The grandkids loved having their own room on the third floor and loved the theater room along with the pool table.. They also loved waking up to see deer in the yard and of course leaving deer food out for them. This was a lovely vacation for our family and we will be back. This was a lovely house and great location and fun was had by everyone.

Our family lives in Greenville, SC. Jason went to school at Appalachian State and we have made frequent trips to the High Country both as a couple and with our four children. Jason works in the medical field and Heather is a social worker. We are family-centered and love to spend time in the mountains and at the beach when time allows. It's a busy life and we look forward to many years of sharing our mountain retreat with you.

Why they chose this property

We have always loved the mountains and skiing, so we began to look in the Boone area, and finally ventured out to Beech Mountain. Beech Mountain is unique in that, due to its elevation, it stays cooler than any of the surrounding areas during the summer months. We always thought that the winter months would be the times we would use the cabin the most, but it turns out that the summer months offer so many amazing adventures that we love that time period even more! Many people ask us where the name "Luna's Lodge" came from. When our daughter was much younger, she had an imaginary friend named Luna, who is actually apparently a purple elephant with wings and polka dots. As she grew older, we wanted to keep the story of her as a memory for years to come. Keep an eye out for Luna during your stay. She seems to prefer to stay outdoors.
