Quiet and Beautiful Location and Property

  • 5 of 5

My mother and I stayed here for Memorial Day Weekend and had a great time. The home was spacious and beautiful, and we had fun playing pool with the billiards table. The house has a lot of windows which gives natural light and shows the beautiful views of the water.

Excellent stay in Rock Hall

  • 5 of 5

Our second time staying at Swan Point and it was just as great as the first time. Great cottage in great, quiet, peaceful location, but still only a two minute drive to town. We will definitely be back

Terrific Property

  • 5 of 5

We rented both houses for graduation weekend at Washington College. Rock Hall is about a 15 minute drive from Chestertown. Jim could not have been more helpful. We had a small family gathering at the house after the graduation and Jim recommended Fords Seafood who made delicous crab cakes, etc. The houses are immaculately clean. The bathrooms are luxurious. But the best part is the terrific view of the river. A special place to stay!

I grew up right next door to this property in the late 80's and early 90's and was quite impressed with the upgrades that had taken place since I last visited the area. Everything about the property and my stay was absolutely wonderful. I will definitely be booking again as long as my wallet will allow it :-)

Lovely house in beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a weekend in the Swan Point cottage, and it really was perfect. The cottage itself is in superb shape and has tons of space. The upstairs master bedroom is huge with great views, and the second bedroom, while smaller, has everything you need. The bathroom features a whirlpool tub and a large steam shower. The kitchenette has enough appliances (small fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig machine, cutlery and crockery) to do some light food preparation, and is great for entertaining, being next to the TV and the pool table, and open to the dining and living areas. The location is superb. Two miles from the center of Rock Hall, but an idyllic private waterfront setting with tons of wildlife.

Jim stopped by the first night to make sure we had everything we needed, and to answer any questions, and could not have been a more gracious and helpful host.

If we are fortunate to have the chance to return to Rock Hall, the Swan Point cottage will be our first choice of accommodation.

A "magical" vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family has just returned from a stay at this wonderful property. We also rented its sister property and so had use of the whole "compound". The main house consisted of a screened porch, large dining/living room, chef quality kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a laundry room. We also rented the house "up the hill" (not much of a hill) which had a galley kitchenette, pool table, porch, living/dining area, two bedrooms, bathroom with jacuzzi and steam shower and a porch. My husband and I stayed in the smaller of the two houses. Our son and girlfriend, daughter and son in law and two grandsons stayed in the larger (main) house. Both homes are beautifully decorated and appointed. Finally, our dog was able to accompany us, and while not enjoying the scenery from the expansive yard, she had quite deluxe accommodations in a large screened in totally sheltered porch. The property is phenomenal. Because the owners use only organic and biodegradable products on the property, wildlife abounds. We saw more toads and butterflies than I have seen since as a child growing up in rural Pennsylvania. We regularly saw rabbits and deer, and one evening watched five bucks standing and grazing on the lawn. Many different types of birds were sighted as well. There is a horse farm next door; our son's girlfriend is an accomplished rider, and so was able to have lessons in jumping and dressage from the owner - nearly spur of the moment. Jim was available whenever we needed him and provided a highchair as soon as we asked. Many of us went on long bicycle rides, and also did fishing in the area. Rock Hall is a charming little town; we enjoyed the coffee house there, as well as the very nice small public pool. We highly recommend this property and hope to return.

We welcome you to the Pearl of the Chesapeake!

Settled in 1706, Rock Hall is a charming Chesapeake Bay village with miles of shoreline, public docking and many marinas. Our artistic community is alive and vibrant with constant inspiration from the unspoiled surroundings; musicians come from near and far for our enjoyment. The restaurants offer everything from steamed crabs served waterside to fine dining to take-back-to the boat selections.

Beginning as a small harbor town, Rock Hall has been an important part of the historical fabric of the Eastern Shore. Watermen and their families have worked the bay for generations which has created a wonderful cornerstone for this close, friendly community. In fact, our welcome sign lets people know that ‘Nice people live here!’

We welcome you to navigate our town and find the things that lure you, relax you, and refresh you. Fishing, boating, hunting, birdwatching, biking, hiking, sunning, playing, or just sitting back with your favorite drink – we’ve got it all in Rock Hall.
