“Lochside” Tranquil Lakeside Mountain Retreat-Close To TIEC, Greenville, Hendersonville and Asheville
Whether you are visiting Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC), Greenville, SC or Asheville NC, Lochside will be perfect for you. We are equidistant to all four of the above locations; 30 to 35 minutes via US 25 and I 26. Our location, only 4 miles south of the NC line in the beautiful Blue Ridge Foothills, affords you the luxury of visiting both the SC Upstate and the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina. As soon as you arrive at Lochside you will feel the peace and tranquility of your surroundings and you will quickly discern that you have discovered “a little bit of heaven”. Relax on the 62' lakeside deck with your morning cup of coffee before you head over to TIEC or leave for a day of sightseeing . Upon your return have a drink and unwind from your activities while enjoying the awesome view or read your engaging book in the hammock. Lochside is a luxurious 1500 square foot apartment on the lakeside level of the home; the year round owners reside upstairs. Tourist brochures, local magazines and maps are provided for your convenience.
This professionally decorated apartment, with its own entrance, consists of a large great room with beautiful leather furniture, an antique drop--leaf table from Scotland which will provide an eating and/or a game table, another Scottish antique, a Monks Bench, filled with games and puzzles, a kitchenette fully stocked with every gadget and small electrical appliance you could possibly need, 2 bedrooms (1 king bed with its own bath and 1 twin with its own bath), a 62 foot covered deck, and a gas bar- b- q grill.

You will be amazed at the beauty of downtown. The tree lined Main Street with its twinkle lights year- round sets the mood. Falls Park on the Reedy River and its Heritage Bridge, a 62 foot pedestrian suspension bridge. Visit Heritage Green, home of the Children’s Museum, History Museum, and Art Gallery. The streets of downtown are lined with boutiques, an amazing variety of shops and fabulous restaurants featuring numerous varieties of ethnic food. If you are lover of micro breweries, you won’t be disappointed. There are over 60 breweries located in Greenville, throughout the upstate and in Hendersonville, and Asheville. Award winning restaurants in all three cities also await.
Historic Hendersonville is minutes away. Hendersonville, NC, has a delightful, flower-filled Main Street with an abundance of shops antique dealers and restaurants. It is home to the Flat Rock Theater (the National Theater of NC) which offers year round productions with local and professional NY actors. Their performances are not to be missed. There are regular festivals on Main Street which attract adults and children Minutes to the west is the town of Brevard where you can experience the music and magic of Brevard Music Center in the summer, on the lawn, under the stars, or in an intimate hall. Also located very near Brevard is DuPont State Forest as well as Pisgah National Forest. Both are great for hiking and viewing many waterfalls.
In Asheville the Biltmore Estate should be your first stop. George W. Vanderbilt’s 250-room 19th century French Renaissance- inspired chateau houses priceless treasures. The huge Estate offers a myriad of activities including horseback riding, bicycling, beautiful gardens, a winery, and numerous restaurants and shops. Asheville’s reputation as the Paris of the South is reflected in the cultural variety of the city and the Art Deco Architecture. Visit the “Granddaddy of Farmers’ Markets’ which is open six days a week; however, Saturday in the “big” day. See how the vendors reflect the “Slow Food Movement” which is gaining popularity in NC and the Upstate. Your time in Asheville won’t be complete without a trip to the Botanical Gardens. This 10 acre non-profit nature reserve displays the native plants of the Southern Appalachians.
Outdoor activities are almost too numerous to are mention. There are many state and national parks for hiking, rivers for white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, zip lining and fly fishing.
There is also a thriving cycling scene. Greenville hosts the US National and Time Trial Championship and is the home of George Hincapie. He has completed 17 Tour de France races and has contributed to the growth of cycling throughout the upstate and having Greenville named the 5th Best Cycling City in the US. World class cyclists from all over the globe come to the Upstate to train on the more challenging
hills. The Hincapie Gran Fondo, named by the Men’s Journal as One of the Top Five Fondos in the US attracted over 1300 professional and amateur riders last year. The 2015 Gran Fondo is on October 15, 2015.
Ten miles south is the small town of Travelers Rest which has attracted national attention. Travelers Rest, SC, recently came in 4th in the Best Small Towns in America. Here you can access Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 21 mile multi-use green way for biking or walking. The green way runs along the Reedy River connecting Greenville County with schools, parks, and local businesses.

1.Smoking is NOT allowed in the home.
2. GUEST PROMISES: For each night that any persons are occupying the house, then the person signing this contract will be present during those nights for the entire rental period and is at least 25 years of age.
3.NO EVENTS of any kind are allowed on the property. This is a HOUSE in a residential neighborhood and is NOT a hotel and is NOT an event center. Guest agrees to NOT have any type of event at the house, including (but not limited to) Wedding, Stag or Stagette party, bachelor party, bachelorette party, or ANY OTHER event.
4.QUIET TIME: 9 PM until 9 AM is “quiet time” EVERY EVENING!! Guest acknowledges that one of the attractions of this home is its location near the city and the resultant neighbors living in close proximity. All noise including loud talking and music and other sounds will be moved indoors during the hours designated as “quiet time”.
5.OCCUPANTS: Only those persons listed in the Rental Party above may occupy the property overnight. The Guest may invite up to ten additional persons onto the property for a social gathering, but not for an overnight stay. Any exceptions MUST be pre-approved in writing.
6. GUEST PROMISES: 1) Not to act in a loud, boisterous, unruly or thoughtless manner or disturb the rights of neighbors to peace and quiet, or allow his/her guests to do so; 2) to use the home only as a private residence, and not to engage in any activity or allow any condition that is illegal or dangerous or which would cause a can
