Outstanding 'Country Cabin in the City' Option

  • 5 of 5

This is a great stay for 1-3 people to feel right at home in a charming cabin that is well appointed and stocked like a quality hotel. It is located with a view of the Stampede grounds and the city skyline on a quiet street, just a short walk from the Inglewood neighborhood. Lots of cafes, specialty shops, gourmet groceries and hearty breakfasts within a five minute stroll of the cabin's front porch can be found when you explore the area on foot. A definite place to return, relax and unwind in the West.

Who would have guessed you can stay in a cabin in the middle of the City!!

  • 5 of 5

I have to say I was quite surprised when we drove up. I had googled the address in advance to get an idea of where this cabin was. It really didn't show me much although It literally is in the middle of the city, but when you pull up , the cabin sits on top of a hill and you are secluded. It doesn't feel like you are in the middle of a neighborhood. . It is close to absolutely everything in Calgary. Walking distance to shops, the river, and an absolutely beautiful sunset. The city lights are quite a bit closer than the picture shows. I tried taking pictures with my camera and had the same results. At any rate, that was also a nice surprise. The cabin was exactly what we expected, and we really enjoyed it. It was very clean. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had high water pressure, and if you did decide to make your own meals, the cabin was very well stocked. Robert was very accommodating and very nice, making sure we didn't have any issues getting in. After he showed us around, we didn't see him again, but he left his cell number to call him direct if we had any issues. I have to say this was one of the easiest rentals we have ever stayed at. Robert even sent our deposit back the same day. I can truthfully say that has NEVER happened in my 10+ years of using VBRO. My boyfriend and I plan on returning, and staying at this cabin again.

Owner's Response: Wow Tamara, thanks for all of the kudos!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the city. We're very lucky to be located where we are, and are thrilled when we hear from our guests that the Cabin is what they were looking for. Hopefully a few of the cooler evenings gave you some respite from the heat in the desert. I'm very happy you found the amenities to your liking. We'd love to see you back, so do not hesitate to contact myself at your convenience. I hope you had a good trip back home. See you again! Regards, Rob and Connie Young.

Perfect country escape in downtown Calgary

  • 5 of 5

My grandaughter and I adored our stay at the cabin. The view of downtown from our bed in the loft was stupendous, and the proximity to restaurants and cool shops was a big plus. The quality of the linens was very deeply appreciated, and the amenities were also top notch. I enjoyed my "americano" coffee immensely and I feel that I may need a machine like that! Thanks, Connie and Robert for your wonderful hospitality and we look forward to seeing you next time.

Began to feel like home

  • 5 of 5

Just got back home, still jetlagged after 15 days in Calgary and Alberta and Robert and Connie's place was really starting to feel like home. Ramsay is a very friendly neighbourhood in which to discover Calgary and explore by foot, car rental or even Uber! The cabin was just the right size for us both and had all that we needed to feel like we could self cater or just relax. The upstairs space has a super-comfortable mattress and although you feel so close to the amazing downtown skyline, it is cosy and quiet with a sunny front space to relax after hiking and exploring in The Rockies [only an hour away].

Robert and Connie were lovely hosts and so welcoming and helpful, as were all their visiting family and we felt so part of the neighbourhood when we explored all the local environs. It was quite an emotional visit for us as I was helping my daughter in her transition to moving from London to Canada and they all offered help and advice as did neighbours we met just walking around!

Thanks again for the stay!
