About Val and Renee Morel

About the Property Owners:

Our names are Lucretia and Bob. We currently are retired and live in South Carolina. Bob was an engineer and through employment assignments, we have been able to travel and live in many locations, both in USA and abroad. We spent several years in Dubai, UAE and Singapore. Lucretia is a native New Orleanian while Bob is originally from West Virginia. We were married at the St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter and lived previously ten years in Mandeville.

About the Managers:

The managers of the Mandeville Tree house, Renee and Val More, are also native New Orleanians and are readily available to assist you.

Why Val and Renee Morel chose Mandeville

Why Mandeville ?

Being born and raised in NOLA, Lucretia has always missed the Louisiana culture. Old Mandeville offers small town charm yet big city conveniences. We loved Old Mandeville when we lived here and love it even more now. The Mandeville Tree house is our return home cottage. We hope you will enjoy the Mandeville Tree house as much as we do.

What makes this house unique

Benefits of the home :

This home is located on the north shore in Historic Old Mandeville, just one short block from Lake Ponchartrain Lakefront. The Lakefront offers beautiful views and opportunities for walking, biking or just relaxing on the seawall. It also offers a playground and water fountain for children to play in. Numerous excellent restaurants are located within walking distance from the home. The St. Tammany Trace (bike trail) is nearby and the New Orleans French Quarter is an easy drive away. The home itself is in a beautiful setting, privately located within a grove of large oak trees. Enjoying refreshments on the covered front porch is very enjoyable.

We loved our experience there; the Christmas lights in the oaks in the area made it extra special!

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nice and the arrangement worked out perfectly for our purposes. One minor detail-- the house was very cold when we got there (45 degrees). It took hours to warm it up. However, overall we were pleased. We would definitely stay again.

Owner's Response: Our cleaner returned to the house the same evening the guests checked in so that she could address any cleaning issues they had. This was a 8 o'clock at night. Our cleaner does a terrific job, unfortunately we were just unable to please this guest. Bottom line is that she wanted money back. Unfortunately this happens every so often that we have a guest who cannot be pleased no matter how much we try. We hope the other guest experiences described here will paint a more accurate picture of this lovely home and it's unique location. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with us.

Mardi Gras Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Mandeville Treehouse for a long Mardi Gras weekend was awesome! The house was able to accommodate 6 people very comfortably and it was an easy drive to the Causeway bridge to go into town. There is a great playground right on the lakefront around the corner so my child enjoyed some play time too while I enjoyed the beautiful views.

The owners of the house have put a lot of consideration into their guest's stay because they have menus from all of the surrounding restaurants in the binder and notated their favorites which was very helpful when deciding on where to eat.

The porch is really nice and relaxing to sit on high up in the trees while sipping on a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine.

We truly enjoyed our visit and recommend it to any out of towners looking for a comfortable place to stay near New Orleans. We will definitely be back!

Great place in Mandeville, LA.

  • 5 of 5

We booked two weeks at this two bedroom house near Lake Ponchartrain with another couple and found that we were near great restaurants, great walking areas and bike paths. The house was well equipped with a large fully equipped kitchen, two large bathrooms, two bedrooms with doors to the huge deck and laundry facilities. We plan on booking another two weeks next year.

Great property near the lake.

  • 5 of 5

The unit was large with high ceilings, large bedrooms and great fully equipped kitchen and laundry. It was walking distance from the lake and great restaurants and not to far from the entrance to the causeway to New Orleans.
