What makes this farmhouse unique

This property has been in the family since the1930's. It has raised 3 generations and continues to be a blessing. As everyone has gotten older and moved away, we felt that it would be great to share our little piece of heaven with others. From the rolling hills to the spring water, Legacy Acres really allows for guests to unplug and unwind.

A quiet place to get off the grid and focus

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for a weekend with three other author friends and this was the perfect place to catch up and focus on our writing together. The lack of internet was perfect for us, and though the Verizon folks and one bar of cell service in some spots, I thankfully didn't have any. There were lots of little spots to tuck ourselves away and write, plus plenty of communal space where we could come together in the evenings, cook meals together, play games, and chat. It's incredibly quiet and peaceful. It was wonderful to get away from everything for a weekend!

I will say: I recommend arriving while there's still some sun! During the day, there are helpful signs to tell you to keep driving down the gravel road it's on, but at night you might hesitate. You'll go over one little bridge as you turn onto the gravel road, and the house isn't until you go over a second little bridge.

The house was exactly as advertised, and what we wanted.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and three kids stayed at this house for parent's weekend at W&L and it was a great alternative to a few hotel rooms. The house was perfectly kept and had everythng we needed -- towels, kitchen equipment, etc. The outdoor patio and fireplace are great features. I recommend it highly, but be willing to travel 35-40 minutes to Lexington if that is your destination.

Pleasant weekend in rural Goshen

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Legacy Acres with our 3

young children. We arrived after a day of nonstop rain and it was quite chilly in the house. The gas heater took ahwile to get things warmed up. I was so thankful for the washer and dryer because we needed to dry a lot of clothes after the storm.

We ate breakfast at the house two mornings and would have liked if there were some more kitchen supplies (large frying pan, whisk, teapot, measuring cup). We made pancakes! My husband was delighted by the Keurig machine.

The beds were comfortable and the main bath was perfect--always appreciate lots of hot water and a tub, especially with kids. Mr Johnson was very pleasant and responsive. One of the things I most appreciated was that this was one of the easiest check-outs I've ever experienced--no laundry list of things to do before you leave...such a nice change. My kids would probably say that the tire swing was their favorite thing!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback! We are glad that you and your family had a good time at the Homeplace at Legacy Acres. We have already added a frying pan and should have the other items in shortly. The heater can be a little cantankerous at times, but we are working on putting in a new heating system. Thank you again for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon! Andrew Johnson Legacy Acres
