Perfect location

  • 4 of 5

This little casita was very private, quiet and in an excellent spot - easy walking to every part of San Miguel. This was my first visit and I found navigating very easy.

Our welcome was well managed, and even though the owner was unable to be there, arrangements were made and contacts set up.

The downside was certainly the water system. VERY low water pressure in sinks made for long waits for hot water, and doing dishes and cleaning in kitchen was difficult. Fortunately the shower seemed to operate better. Other than that, the casita was well-equipped and we had all that we needed.

Small and compact

  • 4 of 5

The casita is a studio apartment with 2 twin beds which we found very comfortable. This was a short notice request at Christmas so we really appreciated Minerva being willing to have us. She had put a few provisions in the kitchen which was very thoughtful. We did have some issues with the hot water, but it was sorted out in a couple of days. The location is great, you are very close to El Jardin and an excellent bakery. (There are several in SMA). There are also a multitude of tourist shops and pedlars. One of the best things about the casita is it's unique heating system - this is an unusual find. It does get cold at night - it can get close to freezing - so feeling cozy is a big plus. The skies are blue and the temperature rises by 10 am - it's very pleasant for walking around. Minerva also invited us to her New Years Eve dinner which was a lovely way to meet a few people and celebrate. This is our 3rd stay in SMA. We love walking the streets of the various Colonias and Parque Benito Juarez, sitting in El Jardin watching the world go by and visiting our favourite coffee shop, Café Beun Día on Pueblito. There are several language schools if you are so inclined.

Fun time in San Miguel

  • 5 of 5

The casita had absolutely everything we needed and it was so easy just unlocking the exterior door, walking through Minerva's living room and down a staircase into our private garden, living area and rooftop patio. We had total privacy and lots of fun!
