A Comfortable Home with the Best Location in Downtown Jim Thorpe

Bedrooms 3
Property type townhome
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Over A Shop In The Heart Of Downtown Jim Thorpe

This beautifully renovated, 200-year-old home has everything for your summer, winter, spring, or fall vacation. It features three very spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen with a dining table for eight, washer/dryer, WiFi, board games, streaming movies and television, VCR with a broad selection of DVDs, and a turntable with vinyl albums. We provide linens, towels, and other amenities.

The two-story rental sits above Conjured, a handcrafted-soap shop on the historic main street in Jim Thorpe, and is a short walk from dozens of restaurants, shops, museums, bars, and art galleries. Take in a show at the Mauch Chunk Opera House or enjoy a leisurely meal at the Stone Row Pub & Eatery or Through the Looking Glass, just steps from our door. The house comes with up to three parking spaces—a true boon in the downtown area, where parking is scarce.

Jim Thorpe is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. In the spring, summer, and fall, take advantage of the region's world-class mountain biking; pedal 25 miles of the D&L Trail along the Lehigh River (accessible by scenic railway); jump into a whitewater rafting expedition, timed to the area's dam releases; or hike the gorgeous Glen Onoko Falls Trail, just 2.5 miles from our doorstep. During the winter, use 101 Broadway as a cozy base for the Blue Mountain and Jack Frost ski areas, which are both less than 30 minutes away.

Awesome place to stay for the Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival!

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd year that I put up my tech crew for JTIFF and they all loved staying there!

Tyghe is a great host! We'll definitely be back for next year's festival.

Comfortable and charming home, perfect for families

  • 5 of 5

We had two families (four adults, three children) stay in this home for a ski weekend, and it was perfect for our needs. The kids (ages 5 to 11) enjoyed the many board games and books, and we brought some DVDs for them to watch also. It was only half an hour's drive to Jack Frost ski resort, and only a few minutes' walk to the delicious Stone Row Pub and Eatery (which is allergy friendly!). Unfortunately we didn't get to explore the rest of downtown Jim Thorpe, as it rained during our weekend, but we were right in the center and could easily have walked to many shops and restaurants in the area. We only needed two of the three parking spaces, which was fortunate because the two that were side by side were narrowed quite a bit by snow and ice. The kitchen and dining area were great for us, and everything was immaculate. We found plenty of cooking equipment, towels, and extra blankets, and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the space and planet decor and the vintage Popular Mechanics magazines and other interesting touches. We had a little confusion with the lock box, as there's an identical lock box for the downstairs entrance of the soap shop and we were travel-tired and not thinking clearly about which floor we were supposed to go to. When we called, Jenny answered immediately and we quickly figured out what was wrong. We have a couple of family members who are extremely sensitive to strong scents, and Jenny and Tyghe assured us that we would not be able to smell anything from the soap shop (true). We were therefore surprised to find several plug-in air fresheners in the apartment, but we just unplugged them and then plugged them back in when we left. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, appreciated the very responsive and kind owners, and would definitely choose to stay again.

Owner's Response: Amy, apologies that I didn't think of the air fresheners when you asked about the soap shop! I would have asked our cleaning person to remove them prior to your arrival. Glad you had a nice stay regardless and please do come back and explore the town. -Jenny

Stayed here for a weekend snow tubing trip with our children. Great proximity to Blue Mountain ski & tubing activities. The town of Jim Thorpe is great for families. We walked to dinner and to get coffee in the morning. Cool shops all around, too! Perfect weekend getaway

Great space, full amenities, ideal location.

  • 5 of 5

Thus was our first time to Jim Thorpe and we lucked out with our accommodations. The location is ideal. From the bedroom window, you can see eateries, shops and mountains. Bedrooms are spacious and their is ample parking. We had one small issue with the Wifi but the landlord was attentive and helped us remedy within minutes of our text. We will be back!

Great place for a family Christmas

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this place worked exactly as we had hoped. The location is excellent, right in the little town and also easy access to nice places to walk and hike. There was ample room for 6 adults, and my daughter and her baby stayed for a night with little trouble. The bedrooms are really big, and provide good places to read/hang out away from the crowd. It is true that the fold out couch is not the most comfortable bed, but it was ok for one night; I don't think it would be good to plan on having someone sleep there long term. The kitchen had everything we needed to make Christmas dinner and we really appreciated the washer and dryer. Tyghe and Jenny were very welcoming and accommodating and made everything easy. I highly recommend this place -- I think it would be even better in the summer!
