Nestled on the shore of beautiful Lake Hudson, one of the top 100 fishing lakes (64th) in the U.S. as rated by Bassmaster, Leave all the stress behind and relax at our quiet, peaceful resort, Enjoy our beautiful two-story home overlooking Lake Hudson and gardens. Horseshoe INN is a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom updated home with a large open kitchen and living area. The upstairs great room has 2 queen beds, Dish TV and a balcony looking out over the lake and 5 acre property. There is a large bathroom with walk-in shower, jetted tub for two and double vanities. A pocket door opens up to another bedroom with a full bed, twin bed and snack area.
Downstairs, the master has a king bed with on suite bathroom. Fourth and firth bedrooms both have queen beds and share the third bathroom, which has a walk-in shower.
The living area has two queen size sleeper sofas as well as other comfortable chairs and recliners.
Fully equipped kitchen with enough pots and pans to feed a crowd. There are plenty of dishes for inside and lots of plastic trays and glasses for outside entertaining. Dining table for eight, kitchen table seats six and the bar accommodates three.
There is a wrap around deck. The sun deck overlooks the pool and the shade deck overlooks the lake. Tables and chairs and lounge chairs are provided for your comfort. You can also access the four person hot tub from the deck.
The shaded deck has a misting system to keep you cool while you enjoy the fresh, country air. Relax as you listen to the water cascading over the rocks in the Koi Pond.
Beautiful grounds to explore and enjoy our landscaping. Volleyball, croquet, kayaking, horseshoe pitching and bird watching are just a few of the ways to spend your time on the property.
Great fishing off the dock or rent our pontoon for a day on the lake. Fishing, sight seeing around the 12,000 acre lake or tubing are great ways to enjoy the water.
Need more room? We have a bunk house with two additional bathrooms, kitchen, TV and air conditioning. It is set up with table and chairs for dining or playing games. RV sites, cabins and camping area available for the rest of your friends or family who would like to join you.
Washer and dryer provided. Large storm shelter in basement of the INN.
We purchased the property adjoining ours with dreams of opening an INN and building an RV park. It has taken a lot of work and determination to make our dream a reality. I wanted a place where families could come, relax, enjoy the lake and just reconnect with each other. I love to entertain, decorate, garden, go junkin' and act as 'camp counselor' during the holiday weekends. You will find antiques and horseshoes used to decorate throughout the resort. I love rusty tin and it is used on ceilings, walls or back splashes in the Bunk House as well as our other cabins.
My next dream is to start hosting country weddings with lots of burlap, red bandannas, hay bales and big wagon wheels as decorations. I already have a beautiful, shady spot picked out on the lake shore for the ceremony and the reception area will be in the bunk house.
Linda Garrett purchased this house in 2012
My original dream property was not large enough to fulfill all my wishes. So, when our neighbors put their property on the market, we scooped it up. So, I'm still living my dream, just on a bigger property.
The INN has a great setup. I can rent just the downstairs area if I choose, as there is a separate entrance that can access the second floor. Downstairs walls are 8" thick block/rock, so you are never disturbed by noise from upstairs or outside.
I love the INN because of the great layout, fabulous lake views and there is plenty of space for everyone. The back wall, facing the lake, is a wall of windows. So no matter where you are, you will have a fabulous view of the water and wildlife. We love to watch the deer come across the lower yard in the evening to drink from the lake. We've seen red fox, beaver, raccoon, armadillos, possums, squirrels, and birds of all kinds and colors. My favorites are the Orioles and Cardinals. We have even seen wild hogs and deer swimming across the lake. (I didn't know they could swim either!) I also love the wrap around porch.
There are swings, benches, and out of the way seating areas placed across the property that will just call your name and invite you to take a seat and enjoy the surroundings.
Most comment on how quiet and peaceful it is, and I agree, unless there is a game of volleyball or softball going on!
Thank you for the hospitality, we will see you next year!!
Great place for a family reunion (ranged from 3 months to 84 years). Owner was very accommodating and on site for any questions or needs. Beds were comfortable and even the sleeper sofas had memory foam for extra comfort. Good size kitchen, fully stocked and two dining tables. Above ground pool was very clean. Pool was kind of awkward to get to, but it added a safety level for little ones to be on the deck and not get in the pool.
We really enjoyed our stay in spite of the lake being closed to boating. The owners are so gracious and accommodating making the experience even that much more enjoyable!
Very comfortable and beautiful. Had everything we needed.
We enjoyed a nice long weekend at The Inn with plenty for the kids to do between swimming, fishing and playing. The property had everything we needed and plenty of beds and space for a large family and Linda and Fred were very accommodating and responsive to any questions or needs we had.
We rented the Inn for one week and were pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was for the money you pay. The whole property is well taken care of and there are so many amenities right on property. There is a lake for fishing and boating, large green space to play games and run around, an above ground pool at the Inn and another inground pool at the campground that we used often, a fire pit right outside for campfires, and games in the inn for the kids to play! They keep a small campground store out of their home to purchase snacks, milk, ice, and many other items people often times forget or need and it all is well priced. The owners were so friendly and accommodating at all times. Linda even offered to pick us up anything we were needing from town when she ran to Tulsa one day. Over the week we had a few small issues with things at the Inn and Linda and her husband would address the issues immediately and were always available via phone if ever needed. There were 8 adults and 11 children in our group and we all had a fantastic time! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun, & clean getaway with family and friends.
It is so quiet and peaceful most people don't leave. But, there are lots of antique/flea markets in the area, a golf course and casinos.
Tulsa (50 miles) has wonderful museums (Philbrook and Gilcrease, the Air and Space and Route 66), mansions, shopping, Hard Rock Casino and a great zoo. For upscale shopping and dining visit the Shops at Utica Square. Sax 5th Avenue, White House/Black Market, Ann Taylor, Pottery Barn and William Sonoma to name a few. Favorite restaurants are the Stone Horse, Wild Fork and P F Changs.
Jenks, just a few miles SW of Tulsa, is known as the antique capital of Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Aquarium** is there, as well as The Riverwalk for food and nightlife.
Claremore (30 minutes) is home to the Will Rogers** museum, Jim Davis Gun Museum** (largest collection of guns and weapons in the world), Rogers State University, Cherokee Casino and a revitalized main street full of antique, junk and collectible shops.
Pryor/Adair (20 minutes) hosts ROCKLAHOMA every Memorial Day, is home to GOOGLE's largest server farm, has lots of antique/collectible shops and lots of fast food stops.
Super Walmart and Homeland grocery store located in Pryor.
Salina (15 minutes) has a Dollar General, small grocery and my favorite burger joint. PIG N OUT has great burgers, onion rings and shakes. An order of french fries will feed two and their baked potatoes are a meal in itself. Don't order a large ice cream cone for the little ones, it will be as tall as their arm!
Locust Grove (25 minutes) has a Walmart Neighbor Market and the Country Cottage - a really good buffet.
Grove (35 minutes) has a Super Walmart, great golf course at Shangri-La, Har-Ber Village** museum, and lots of fun shops. Located on Grand Lake, the Pensacola Dam offers tours that are fun and educational.
Tahlequah (50 minutes) is my hometown. Cherokee Nation has its tribal headquarters there, as well as Northeastern State University and the Illinois River. The river has many float trip companies to get you out on a raft to enjoy the beauty of the bluffs and the scenic river.
Don't miss the Cherokee Heritage Center** to see how our ancestors lived and played, it is both historical and educational. Hear the details of the Trails of Tears, which relocated the Cherokees from North Carolina to NE Oklahoma.
If visiting in June or July, book tickets to see the River City Players**. The singers and actors are all students at NSU.
