A beautiful week at Mooz Cottage, Sunset Lane, McKellar
Manon and David have put a tremendous amount of time, effort and resources into this outstanding cottage with its accommodation for up to 10 people, two bathrooms, two docks for swimming, fishing and boating, a beautiful and well equipped beach house and several crafts on which to cruise the lake. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped- although a microwave would be an asset - the bathrooms are modern, with all required features and the living areas are spacious, well furnished, comfortable and able to accommodate a lot of people for a party or barbecue. The house has two decks and a lower entrance area - there is just a ton of room to go around. Two Bell satellite TV's and a play station are there for rainy days. What's more, Mooz is only 5 minutes from the McKellar General Store and 20 minutes from downtown Parry Sound, so very accessible for all shopping and town life as needed. We loved our time here and it is obvious that David and Manon are deeply committed to making their cottage a true home away from home for your family. And, the sunsets are to die for almost every evening!
As to possible improvements, the lack of a microwave was an issue with young children to feed quickly, the bicycles are truly not very roadworthy, and a list of core TV channels with instructions on how the satellite system works, would be a help for the uninitiated.
Other than that, this cottage really lives up to its billing and its reviews and we would strongly recommend it for families of all ages, particularly if you like fishing (bites right off the dock!), feeding ducks and watching turtles swim lazily by. It's a true and beautiful escape and the owners are to be commended for working so hard to make it just right.
Amazing Family Vacation Property
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this cottage - perfect for our large, two family group!
Sweet get away!!
This was a lovely place to spend time at. Clean, classy, shabby chic and so welcoming. Even on a dull grey day the Cottage felt full of light and play! It was difficult to leave. Would definitely return and recommend!!
Large, warm, beautifully appointed cottage
Eight of us were at this cottage for a celebration weekend. It is beautifully appointed. Manon and Dave have thought of everything that a cottage-goer could need. The dock offers a terrific view of the sunset. The large dining room table and the living room comfortably accommodated our large group. Thank you for the perfect space to create wonderful memories!! We will be back.
Perfect cottage getaway.
We just got home from a week at "moozcottage" and no one wanted to leave. For us it was a golf and cottage trip for 8 guys from 35 to 40 years old. The pictures look great but when you arrive you realize the pictures don't do it justice. Everyone was so pleased with this place that we are already talking dates for next year. The best part is the dock and lake, because that's why you go to a cottage. Beautiful water and large pier like dock that fits everyone for star gazing and having a couple drinks.
I would recommend this cottage for anyone, families, singles or couples.
Amazing cottage. We will return.
Perfect Family Getaway
My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Mooz Cottage for a weekend in April. It is truly the loveliest cottage we have ever been to! So spacious and beautifully decorated, so comfortable and updated, with everything you could possibly need for a home away from home. The lake frontage is simply stunning! Beautiful trees, a large dock to hang out on, calm water with pretty natural shoreline, campfire, bird watching and sunset views. The boathouse is a great spot to hang out as is the deck overlooking the lake. Our time there was so relaxing, an ideal family place for any time of year, we will definitely be back!
The cottage is located on beautiful Lake Manitouwabing. The lake has many islands, hidden bays and is 120ft at its deepest point. It is 2.5 hours from Toronto or about 90 minutes north of Barrie just up Highway 400 to Parry Sound. The cottage is fully winterized and is situated on an island which is accessible by car year round via a causeway. Parry Sound is only 15 minutes away, with a Hospital, medical clinic, large grocery stores and a selection of great restaurants.
