About Chris Peterson

Ernie and I retired to Saugatuck from Nebraska 10 years ago and have loved every minute. There is so much to do and enjoy. We drive through town and say "I can't believe we live here". Restaurants, shopping, boating, hiking, sight-seeing, plays, goes on and on.

Chris Peterson purchased this house in 2013

Why Chris Peterson chose Saugatuck

If you love the cottage experience, you will love Big Blue. It is a 1930's home that has been updated but still has that cottage feeling. All wood floors, walnut walls, a country style kitchen and screened in porch are part of the quaintness. There are 3 deck areas in the back under the huge pine trees for you to enjoy. Saugatuck is 5 blocks away....a short walk through the old neighborhoods.

Charming Cottage- Great Area

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Big Blue! The home was very clean and well stocked and easily accommodated six. Kid friendly space with a full toy box inside. My kids loved the big stuffed animals on the beds! Plenty of outdoor play space for kids and pups to run and play. Owners were kind and very responsive. Quiet neighborhood and convenient to all the sights.

Our kids (ages 3-8) loved Windmill Island Gardens and Nelis' Dutch Village in Holland, MI. We had a very pleasant trip to Kirk Park an off leash dog beach. And we'll never forget our dinner at Crane's Pie Pantry in Fennville.

We could not have been happier with our stay and would recommend Big Blue to anyone!

Darling Cottage - Great area

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Big Blue. The house accommodated six people easily. Furnishings and beds were comfortable. Communication with owner was quick and efficient. We did not cook as we were only there for 2 nights on Easter weekend. The owner stopped in driveway while we were unloading to let us know if we needed anything he was right down the street. Would definitely stay again - especially in the warmer weather. Beautiful wooded neighborhood close to everything.

Perfect place for a last minute trip

  • 5 of 5

This is a great rental property. Feels like you are in a cabin. It is an older home with tons of character and very comfortable. Owners were very nice although we didn't really need anything from them. It is less than a 5 minute walk to town. We look forward to staying here again.

Great vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

This home is perfectly located for a Saugatuck vacation. The home is well cared for and the owners are easy to work with. We had everything we needed. The screened porch was our favorite spot. The window A.C. units cooled the house nicely. The beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
