We are Floridians who love the Great Smoky Mountains.
Hannah purchased this cabin in 2005
When I first saw the views of the valley and the mountains surrounding it, I immediately decided this cabin is my dream home vacation.
Breathtaking View of the Valley and the Smoky Mountains , Private Property With a Big Lot That Provides Enough Privacy, Very Close to All Attractions in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
If you are looking for beautiful scenery, privacy, upscale accommodations, and room for a large family or group, this is your place. It is very close to town and attractions, but high enough in elevation to see one of the best scenes available in the Smokies. Hannah and her husband were fantastic and attentive to our communications. The place was spotless and had everything you need. It rained most of our stay, but it really didn't matter. The balconies were covered and the game room and hot tub kept us busy. We could see the clouds roll in over the mountains. No bears outside this time, but lots of bears inside with the decor. We'll definitely go back!
This property was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was perfect. The views were excellent the cabin was super clean. Thanks!
This cabin was awesome! It had a great view and the decks were a relaxing place to hang out. The bedrooms were spacious and the game room was perfect for the kids! The only minor complaint is that the floor is really squeaky (you can hear your friends in the upstairs bedroom at 6am) and there needs to be steps to get into the hot tub. Knowing these things, I would still rent it again!!
Best vacation ever!!
We are a family of 5 . 3 kids 7,6,2 and everyone had a blast here. The kids ran around playing in their huge rooms and in the game room. I enjoyed the weather and porch views and was especially happy to see a mama flying squirrel in the night jumping from the roof to the trees. We had a rabbit on the roadway at night the kids liked to go watch eating. The hot tub was perfect and the kids played in that also. Beds were all King’s and very comfy. Kitchen was stocked with all we needed (kuerig!) the place was clean and we never found anything wrong in that department, ( my husband is a weirdo about that) I enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and time alone lol. The only thing I would recommend is rubber mats available for the tubs because being the water is so silky soft we all slipped around when trying to get out and my kids actually fell without injury, they laughed. But I had to catch myself a few times. We will be back and had several friends asking the website to rent it. Thanks so much , the Connell’s
Bear Hug was beautifully decorated and incredibly clean...with all the extras you need. We had a wonderful time enjoying the views, hot tub, pool table and especially the classic arcade video game. The fireplace and Christmas tree were just what we needed to help get in the Christmas mood. It snowed while we were there, so the views were even more beautiful. Thank you for a perfect Christmas weekend.
Nestled in a valley within the breathtaking Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge is a world class destination for nature enthusiasts.
The biggest draw is, of course, the vast and beautiful Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The park is comprised of 500,000 acres and over 800 miles of hiking trails. Hikers can enjoy the miraculous wonders of nature year round on trails designed to accommodate all levels of hiking ability.
Many visitors to the park are hoping to see a bear and with 1500 bears in the park you very well may. But don’t forget to look out for other creatures; the Smokies have the most biological diversity of any temperate zone on Earth. Included in this amazing diversity are over 1600 types of flowering plants. Ranger Guided programs are available year-round so that visitors can learn about this great American treasure.
Within the park, some of the best opportunities for wildlife viewing can be found in the popular Cades Cove. White-tailed deer are frequently seen in large numbers and it is also quite common to see; black bear, coyotes, ground hogs, turkey, raccoon and skunk. Numerous trails originate in the Cove and wildlife can also be viewed from your vehicle on an 11 mile one-way loop. Cades Cove boasts a campground and a horse camp as well.
For the enthusiastic nature lovers, who want to spend their whole vacation outdoors, Pigeon Forge has over 1900 campsites. Ranging from primitive sites within the park to full RV hookups at campgrounds with amenities such as pools and playgrounds, there is definitely a site for you.
Wilderness Wildlife Week is one of the highlights of the year, bringing thousands of nature lovers from all over the world into Pigeon Forge. Included in the week’s activities are guided hikes, storytelling, photography, fishing and music.
Dollywood Theme Park, with live music shows, and more than 40 ground-breaking rides and attractions, is recognized worldwide for hosting nearly 2.5 million visitors annually. Dollywood is home to award-winning rides, and world- class entertainment.
Pigeon Forge is also Known for its world class, live entertainment. Featuring Lumberjacks, Cloggers, acustic vocalists, magicians, and bluggrass bands, there is a show for every genre. That’s not the only entertainment in Pigeon Forge, offering a variety of full size golf courses, museums, aquariums and local theme parks
Weather in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in Tennessee can be quite unpredictable. Often unseen changes in overall climate, temperature, and moisture levels can take place within a 24 hour time-span. The elevation ranges between 800 feet to 6,643 feet and topography affects local weather, especially with Eastern moving systems coming over the plateau in Middle Tennessee. These systems strengthen there, and are then blocked by the ridge along the valley.
What this means for potential travelers is that you must come prepared to weather out severe thunder storms and freezing situations. Weather during the Spring months can produce pretty severe thunder storms, including high winds and hail at higher elevations. There is even the rare tornado that spawns within the valley. Also during the winter it is not uncommon to have heavy snows and icy conditions on the roads at higher elevations.
The Great Smokey Mountains are a wonderful and beautiful place to visit year ‘round. Just have your family prepared if the weather takes a turn for the worst for a couple of days if you intend on staying during the Winter or Spring months
Although you can spend the day walking around Main Street, you may wish to relax and let someone else do the driving! Pigeon Forge offers affordable public transportation on the Fun Time Trolley, thusly named for its resemblance to old-time trolley cars!
The safe and courteous drivers will pick you up at over 100 stops through the cities of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville. Just look for the bear and we will be there shortly. See the city of Pigeon Forge in a safe and unique way.
After a day of pirating, dinner and shows, retreat to your private cabin, soak your feet in the Jacuzzi or hot tub, and then relax in front of a cozy fireplace as you unwind in your private peaceful log cabin that has become your personal home away from home.
