About Kim

Our family has a few cabins in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge as part of SmokyMtnViews, and this is one of our favorites! We all enjoy a playing, eating, and relaxing in the Smokies.

Kim purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Kim chose Chalet Village

This was a major fixer-upper, but we saw the potential! Now we're excited to share with you. This property has really been transformed. The neighbors love the new look, and we think you will, too! It's on a quiet cul de sac, with only 4 other cabins: one with a year-round resident, and one is ours!

What makes this cabin unique

Down a Quiet Cul De Sac, This Great Cabin Neighbors Year-round Residents. the Tranquil Retreat Won't Make You Feel Like You're Sitting On Top of Other Vacationers!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin. We had brought things like dish soap, cleaners, etc. and were amazed at how well equipped everything was. I know that your next door neighbor called you when we got locked out accidentally. I hope that it did not alarm you. The rental cabin people were amazing and helped us right away despite it being after hours. Anyway we were pleased with our stay and congratulate you on a beautiful job you did to make it feel like a five star hotel!

Beautiful city and beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this little gem of a house on the side of a mountain. Smokey Mountains has a lot of fun things to offer, to white water rafting to taking a scenic drive. The house was clean, well furnished and kitchen was well stocked with necessary cookware. My only disappointment was I wouldn’t say it slept 10, we had 10 in our party and with sleeping places 9 would have fit better.

Wouldn't recommend staying here!

  • 1 of 5

The pictures looked great when we booked our stay. When we got there things were much different from the pictures online. The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms were so small. We had to keep our luggage in the hall by the stairs. The beds were so uncomfortable that we couldn't sleep well the entire week we were there. The bathroom showers were moldy. There were two spiders in my bed in one night. We couldn't get the tv to work in the living room. They advertised four bedrooms online but there were only three. All of the bedding in the pictures online didn't match what was actually on the beds when we stayed there. Our comforter was stained. There was no way we were going to get in the hot tub after seeing how dirty the bathrooms showers were. We had a black bear get in our car!!! I would be nice to know that we couldn't and wouldn't feel safe to even go outside with our small children. Nothing like getting back after a long day of activities and having to run for the door because we were so afraid the bear would be there for us. I read later on the reviews that other people have seen bears. It would have been nice to know before booking because I would have never put my family in that kind of danger for a week. We will no recommend this property to anyone and will never stay here again.

Owner's Response: Hi Tammy, Thanks for sharing your feedback on the cabin and your stay last month. We’re so sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. We certainly would have sent our team out to attend to any cleanliness issues ASAP during your stay, so I wish you would have mentioned those at the time. The hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refilled before every stay in accordance with state and local regulations. Also, bears are common throughout the Smoky Mountains, so those are certainly not unique to our cabin. We will follow up with our cleaners to ensure those items are rotated out and attended to. The bed coverings and linens did not match photos because we routinely rotate things out when they are dirty, stained, and beyond their life span. Again, we’re sorry you did not enjoy your stay. With many other positive ratings, I hope you’ll understand our commitment to quality and that we certainly believe this experience was out of the norm. We just wish we could have helped during your stay! Kim

Great views!!

Definately lock your cars doors. The bears know how to open the door if it's not locked.

Absolutely breathtaking!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Barnyard shenanigans very much. The views from the back porch are stunning, the photos cannot do it justice. We loved watching the mountains blush rose in the sunset, then fade away into dusky purplish hues as the sky over head grew dark. The rest of the house is lovely as well, a lot of thought has gone into this place, and it shows. It is very close to the Smoky Mountain National Park entrance, we spent a lot of time visiting the wonderful area so close by. The roads are narrow, steep and winding, but kept in decent repair, just take it slow, you’ll be better able to enjoy the scenery on the way by!

Nice property

  • 5 of 5

The kitchen needs a few more cooking utensils, something to turn eggs, burgers, etc. Skillets were worn and small. A griddle or waffle maker would be good. Upstairs bedrooms are very small, no room for a pack and play or toddler cot. TV in big bedroom would be nice. Parking was very good and deck was awesome!
