Great place to stay and relax :)

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had an amazing New Year getaway in Tara’s house. We stayed in the house from the 28Dec2017 to 01Jan2018 and had a real blast. The house has everything you need, it’s close to the grocery store, located right at the lake and close to the winter activities places. Very clean, lots of sleeping options and board games :) The kitchen is very well equipped, very clean and has a looooot of stuff you need for cooking.

Looking forward to coming back in summer to enjoy the lake and the beach.

Thank you, Tara!

Kind regards,

Tatiana O.

We stayed at the house 2 years ago and was satisfied enough to rent it a second time. 2 years ago we had a fire in the pit by the water. When I look for a place to rent we have to be able to have an outdoor fire pit. When I rented it the second time I was very disappointed. There was no longer an outdoor pit. This alone would have changed my mind on renting. The dishwasher was broken. The ad said there was an Iron and iron board. I looked everywhere and there was no Iron or board. As soon as I walked in the living room it smelled like dirty sheets from the downstairs bedroom. I took all the linen including blankets and took them to my mother-in-laws to wash them. The wastebasket in the bathroom was full of dirty paper towels. I had to empty it as soon as I got there. There was a note that asked we keep the place clean due to the fact she no longer has a cleaning lady. With all this I had my doubts that the place was cleaned before we got there. The couch really needs to be replaced. We didn't even sit on it. The light switches that are in the back porch are supposed to turn the outside lights on are not working. They weren't working 2 years ago. They really need to do some electrical work and upkeep on the house. It could be a nice place. The furnace was a little sketchy also. It makes a big rumbling sound when it is running and when it shuts off it is a loud bang. Made me wonder on when the last time maintenance was done on the furnace. The door leading you to the back porch has a big hole in it from being chewed by a dog. It was like that 2 years ago. There was a constant cold breeze coming through into the living room. It desperately needs some work done.

A little piece of paradise!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in this charming cottage by the lake. You would be hard pressed to find a vacation home more full of character than this. We spent the week of July 4th with our two teenage boys. The kayaks and canoe kept them busy all week. We used the outdoor grill every night and the screened porch was the perfect outdoor space. Tara, the owner, left lots of helpful information and there were tons of games and dvds in the house for family fun. We had a magical vacation and cannot recommend this highly enough!

Owner's Response: It is always a pleasure to hear that visitors to our VRBO home enjoyed their stay as my family did growing up here every summer. We look at what we would enjoy if we were the visitors on vacation, and try to supply every accomodation to make your visit everything you were expecting and more. We are always open to suggestions for making your stay better! Your family is delightful, and we are so pleased you had so much fun in New Hampshire. We hope you will visit us again sometime, and thank you for your kind words. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and thank you again. Tara

Wonderful Get Away at Lake Winnepocket

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five plus mini-dachshund just spent four days/three nights at this lovely cottage in NH. The home itself was sparkling clean and spacious with good-sized bedrooms, plenty of sleeping options, and a large living room. We did not use the front porch because it's winter but I can only imagine how peaceful it would be in the summer. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need for baking/cooking, including all pots and pans, spices, glassware, dishes, coffee pot, mixer, etc. It snowed 8" one night and a plow service showed up and plowed twice, which was wonderful and made us able to go about our business, which was ski at Mt. Sunapee. The home was located 5 or 6 miles from a cute NE village with a couple of cafes, pizza place, post office and other amenities. Another mile or so out of town was a large supermarket, gas stations, Dunkin Donuts (critical), and hardware store. Although I did not meet the owner Tara in person, she was easily accessible via text and email. Also, she was so kind to offer us an additional night "on the house" since no one was checking in right after us, which unfortunately we could not do but it was such a lovely generous gesture. I have the feeling we will be back again - everything was just perfect and we are anxious to see the lake in the summer. Thank you, Tara!
