The cabin was built in 1939 and through the years has been remodeled to a full-service, all-electric dwelling. Heat is provided through a Pot Belly wood stove in the living room. It is not winterized, so it is used from June through Labor Day.
It is a little piece of heaven! It is nestled by Spring Creek, with the background of the Black Hills and walking distance to the Flume Hiking Trails. Spring Creek is perfect for fishing! The trail leads right to Sheridan Lake, either on the Flume Trail or up the canyon.
There is a screened-in porch with two full-size beds, as well as seating areas. The porch is protected from weather elements. Best way to describe it is that it is luxury camping. There is a queen size airbed that can be set up on the porch or in the living room. A living room with comfortable furniture, a full bath (tub/shower), and fully equipped kitchen (except dishwasher). Air conditioning in the main cabin area, but not on the screened-in porch. Beautiful deck off the porch and a fire pit.
Our cabin is only 3 miles from Highway 385, which is the main highway to all cities and tourist attractions. Hill City is 9 miles, Mount Rushmore Monument is 17 miles, Sturgis is 42 miles, Deadwood is 39 miles, Rapid City is 16 miles, Custer State Park is 34 miles. and the Badlands National Park is 1 hour, 45 minute drive.
