The Isle of Skye is located in the heart of the Muskokas and is just about a two hour drive from Pearson International airport or two and a half hours from downtown Toronto. Our classic “Old Mukoka” private setting is an ideal location for your next vacation or private function.
This eight bedroom cottage compound occupies two acres, representing half of the Isle of Skye with fantastic open views of Lake Muskoka ranging from the Northeast around to the Southwest with approximately 900 feet of varied shoreline. The main century cottage boasts four bedrooms with three shower rooms.
There is a separate two bedroom cottage with its own shower room and two small guest cabins with two twin beds. In total the cottages sleeps 16 comfortably. An additional two bedroomed cottage may be available for larger parties (see below).
The main cottage features a modern 700 sq ft custom crafted kitchen with granite counter tops and a stone fireplace. The main cottage also has a large family room with a fireplace, and the wrap around porch has several outdoor seating areas for eating or just taking in the views. There is satellite TV in the main cottage, wifi in the main cottage and an office with computer and printer for guest use. There is a TV in the second cottage with DVD player. There are two outdoor BBQ’s, kayaks, canoe for guest use.
We also provide a pontoon boat for guest use to taxi between the mainland dock which is just a short two minute boat drive away. Please note a current boating licence is required in order to use the pontoon boat.
Our private mainland parking provides for five cars comfortably with additional parking nearby if required.
The Isle of Skye is ideally located just 15 minutes from Port Carling where you will find shopping, dining, golf courses and resorts.
The Muskoka region offers many exciting activities.
Isle of Skye offers canoes and kayaks. There are plenty of mainland trails to take in a hike. For those early morning risers, enjoy fishing off of the dock or taking in the sunrise. There are plenty of annual town festivals, nearby golf courses, restaurants and shopping. Bala and Port Carling have weekly farmers’ markets during the summer and fall. Boat cruises including the Seguin Steamship which is available at the Gravenhurst Warf (866-687-6667) just a mere twenty minute car ride away.
