Nestled among towering redwoods and adjacent to beautiful Austin Creek in historic Cazadero, you'll feel like you've come home when you walk into our peaceful oasis in the forest. "Sweet household talk, and phrases of the hearth." ~ These tranquil words of Tennyson's capture the calm relaxing essence of our cabin.

This home offers a spacious living room featuring a rustic wood-burning stove for snug evenings by the fire. Just off the living room is a large open deck overlooking the creek with outdoor dining, a gas grill, hot tub, free wireless internet access and a front landscaped yard with giant redwoods. Plus, when you arrive at the home you'll receive a bottle of complimentary wine!

Hearthside Cabin is located in Cazadero, Sonoma County, where surrounding communities offer all kinds of activities for the entire family. Beaches, golfing, hiking, swimming and, of course, award-winning wineries in the Russian River Valley, are all minutes away.

Know Before You Book:

Security Deposit vs. Damage Protection:

When you make your reservation, you will automatically be assigned a security deposit, plus a $30 non refundable processing fee.

The alternative to the large deposit and processing fee is the damage protection program, which is $49 and covers up to $3000 in accidental damages. The damage protection program is an insurance policy. The $49 is not refundable, but you’d be covered if you accidentally broke a wine glass…a lamp…or if someone knocked over something major, like the television. There is no processing fee associated with the damage protection program.

If you would prefer the damage protection program, please include a note with your reservation. If you do not include a note, we do contact all guests before charging the security deposit and processing fee in order to confirm your preference.

Maximum Occupancy: The maximum occupancy at Hearthside Cabin is 6. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: On-site parking easily accommodates 3 vehicles. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Heat Source: Electric wall heaters, wood burning fireplace

Seasonal Amenities: Stairs to creek available May-October. During the winter months, the creek is still accessible by navigating the bank down to the water's edge.

Office Hours and Booking Information:

Our office is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day, excluding major holidays.

After making a booking and confirming their security deposit vs. damage protection preference, guests will be sent arrival instructions and a contract with our terms in detail to sign and return. You will be contacted within 24 hours of making your reservation.

No same-day reservations past 2 pm. It should not happen, but in case the system is allowing you to book for same-day arrival and it is after 2 pm, please reach out to us. If it is after 5 pm, please do not complete your reservation; no one will be available to process your reservation and prepare for your arrival.

About Russian River Vacation Homes

We are Russian River Vacation Homes, a part of D&G Equity Management, Inc., a family owned and locally owned/operated property management company.

Our Story:

In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. At that time, many of the little cabins along the Russian River, originally built as summer cabins, were unsuitable for year-round occupancy. D&G assisted property owners with fixing up and renting their cabins. As the largest property management company in western Sonoma County, D&G Equity Management continues to be a staple in the Russian River community.

Russian River Vacation Homes is an off-shoot of D&G. One fine day in 1985, Michael's client, Bob, asked "Hey Mike, can you rent my cabin out just for the week or weekend instead of by the month?" Michael said "Sure!" and Russian River Vacation Homes was born. As renting vacation rentals became more popular, Russian River Vacation Homes grew into a full-time business with its own office. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.

Hearthside Cabin is located in the historic peaceful village of Cazadero amongst the redwood trees. Cazadero is 12 miles to the Sonoma coast, 12 miles to Guerneville, 9 miles to Monte Rio, 7 miles to Duncan’s Mills and a short drive to Russian River Valley wineries. Cazadero has an old fashioned country store and a coffee shop. Duncan's Mills, Guerneville, and Monte Rio have a number of great restaurants. Duncan's Mills has a number of boutique shops. Monte Rio has a public beach with boat rentals (June-September), a movie theater and a small store.

Notes:
Canoes and Kayaks can be rented locally from King's Sport and Tackle year round, and seasonally from Johnson's Beach and Monte Rio Beach. Water Trek Eco Tours rents boats in Jenner, along with providing guided excursions. Burke's Canoe provides pick up service after a day floating down the river during the summer months.

Kids loved the creek just steps from the house. Everything nearby including Jenner. The interior has been completely updated. Perfect. We will be back.

    DAMAGE PROTECTION: Guests choose between a $49 Vacation Rental Damage Protection Fee and a $1000 Refundable Security Deposit. A $30 Processing Fee is added to reservations with the Security Deposit option. The Vacation Rental Damage Protection is strongly recommended and is the option most guests choose. It covers up to $3000 of accidental damage and can be used for many common 'damages,' such as an excessively dirty hot tub or pet-related damage.

    CHOOSING OPTIONAL FEES: If you book through VRBO/HomeAway, both Damage Protection options and the Optional Travel Insurance show in the rates. State your preference in the comments section of the reservation and we will adjust the rates before processing payment. If no preference is stated, we will contact you prior to processing payment.
  • When a reservation is received, we process payment and send an email confirmation within 24 hours or less. Confirmed reservations are final.

    NIGHT MINIMUMS:
    -Two night minimum October to Memorial Day Weekend (holidays have a higher night minimum)
    -Three night minimum Memorial Day Weekend through late June, and September
    -Four night minimum end of June through August, expect week minimum over the July 4th Holiday and the first week of August.
    -Major holidays including Thanksgiving, Winter Break and President's Day may have a longer night minimum.
    -All specials exclude holidays and must be mentioned at the time of reservation.

  • NOTE: We use an automated system that integrates the VRBO/HomeAway booking engine with our own reservation software. This is generally a good thing; calendars and rates are more accurate than they ever have been and are becoming more reliable every day.
