Situated on one of Venice’s unique walk streets, this charming detached one-bedroom cottage combines the best of two worlds – California Craftsman styling with a thoroughly modern upgrade. Step through the front gate into a lushly landscaped garden shaded by mature trees, paths lined with succulents, and a sitting area for two. A magnificent fountain splashes in the corner. Once inside this tranquil urban oasis, the sounds of the city recede into the distance.
The front door opens into the spacious light and airy living-dining room. Polished oak floors, original molding and hardware, and built-in fireplace and shelves hark back to the days when Venice was a sleepy little summer destination. Original art and photographs decorate the walls adding to the casual, welcoming air. The living area to the left has new contemporary furniture and a large flat screen HD television with cable. High-speed wi-fi makes keeping connected easy.
The generous circular table in the dining area seats four with a view of the garden and fountain. The all-new kitchen features stainless steel GE appliances including a refrigerator, 4-burner stove, microwave and dishwasher. A large stainless steel sink, new chrome fixtures, and Corian counter tops compliment the clean white cabinetry. A complete selection of cookware, dishware, and glassware make it easy to create a full gourmet meal, make a picnic for the beach, or just whip up a fabulous breakfast.
The cozy bedroom has a queen-sized bed and ample storage for your belongings. The en suite bathroom has a large glassed-in shower, marble vanity and new tiled floors.
Central heat and air conditioning insure your comfort no matter what the season.
The cottage shares the lot with two other bungalows and there is a shared laundry room on the property with a new washer and dryer.
Leave the car behind and take a stroll through the walk streets to Abbot Kinney Boulevard, just 15 minutes away. Sample some of the unique shops, galleries, and restaurants that have made this one-of-a-kind street world famous. Better yet, rent bicycles, the best way to get around. Ride down to the beach and experience the Venice Boardwalk for a taste of shops, open-air cafes, street vendors, artists, and musicians – the real Venice. You can ride along the bike path north all the way to the Santa Monica Pier, or south through the Marina to Play Del Rey, a charming enclave of shops and restaurants.
