About Elsie Mae Clements
Our family has a long history in Niagara-on-the-Lake and we are so happy to have finally purchased our own home. We are a young busy family with hockey games, soccer practice, dance class and working for ourselves. For now, we are really pleased to be sharing our vacation home with you and we hope you will love it as much as we do. We have hired local, professional vacation home managers, Niagara Holiday Rentals, to take care of you and our home!
Why Elsie Mae Clements chose Historic Old Town
From early childhood, our family has enjoyed coming to Niagara-on-the-Lake. When my parents moved here, we were delighted to have the opportunity to stay for weekends, holidays and have a great place for our children to visit for a week or two in the summers! We dreamed of one day having our own place here, thinking that it would be a long way off and part of our retirement plan. Then we saw Arbour House for sale, and well what can we say, we fell in love. Not only a great location in old town, its from an era steeped in history, traditional architectural style, and has the "bones" of being a truly show case home. The gardens needed some TLC, but that takes time and patience to bring them back to glory. We are so happy to have found something that reflection of our feelings towards Niagara-on-the-Lake, a home to preserve, cherish and love. When we think of guests coming to our home and building memories, it only adds to the charm and ambiance of Arbour House. Once you cross the threshold you too may feel that you have stepped back a little in time and can experience what it was like back when our house was built in circa 1830. While the historical charm is ever present in our house, the other big attraction for us was the modern kitchen and bath! While we love history, charm and ambiance. The convenience and comfort of newly renovated kitchen and baths was essential! Having the love to cook, the kitchen is thoughtfully planned and I really enjoy making families meals....especially a Saturday brunch! I just love waking up in the morning, walking to Queen street and getting some fresh, special treats! Also get my Starbucks fix too!

Super clean and excellent location. The house was comfortable and roomy enough to accommodate our group of 7. Will definitely return.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Arbour House. Hope you're able to come back again.
Great place for a "girls' " reunion
Just spent 4 wonderful days in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. Seven girlfriends and I had a reunion to celebrate being friends for more than 60 years, and Arbour House was the perfect place for us. The house was spacious, comfortable, and in a great location, only a ten minute walk from the Royal George Theatre, shops and restaurants.
The kitchen was well-equipped, and the beds were comfortable, with good quality sheets and covers.
Our stay was a positive experience for the most part. Limited parking meant organizing some car pooling. Having toilet paper in the bathrooms before our arrival would have been a good thing. Despite a couple of ant traps in the kitchen, we did find little ants throughout the house at times. They didn't particularly bother us, but perhaps some additional attempts to get rid of them would be appreciated by other visitors.
Jason was prompt to attend to any questions we had.
We would definitely stay at Arbour House again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to family and friends. It's a charming older home that reflects the character of the historic old town.
The house is only a few blocks from town so an easy stroll for coffee in the morning, shopping and restaurants. We had 8 people at the house and there was plenty of room. We also enjoyed the outside patio area. Two of the bedrooms are very small and have 2 twin beds and the bedroom on the first floor had a full. It would have been nice to have larger beds but the rooms are too small. The house was very clean. Janet made the check process very easy and we did not have issues during out stay.
Thanks so much for your review! We always appreciate feedback!
The main floor bedroom is a queen bed not a full (or as we call it a "Double").
We always try our best to explain in our online description that the two smaller bedrooms upstairs as it is such a contrast to the other two larger ones! The main floor queen bed is a nice size room! Arbour House is centrally located for anyone enjoying Queen St., the waterfront, all the great restaurants, shopping, galleries, historical sites, golf and the Shaw Festival Theatres!
We all thought that the house was great and it was a wonderful location, so close to shopping and restaurants but still on a nice and quiet street. Everyone had a good time and we all would recommend it as a nice place to stay. We especially liked the private patio, a great place to sit and have our morning coffee. Everyone wanted to stay another day but there just wasn't enough time. Thanks Janet and Eric!
The house was well appointed and served out 8 people with room to spare. Location was really close to town. My only complaint was the air conditioning was not powerful enough to cool the upstairs when the outside temperature climbed into the 90’s. I would stay here again in a cooler season.
Very positive experience. Great location. Charming house.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Arbour House. It is located just a short walking distance from the main thoroughfare of Queen St. and is in a very nice, safe. and quiet neighborhood. The house is very pleasant/ clean and much roomier than it would appear from the outside with plenty of space for our group of nine to congregate or spend time separately. Patio is also private. Two things that might add to a renter's enjoyment could include: 1) More counter or shelving space and hooks in the bathroom and downstairs bedroom. 2) While the air conditioning came in handy during some of the days we stayed there, we would have preferred to be able to open more windows on milder days. (Many windows cannot be opened.) Realtor Janet was helpful and professional. We would enthusiastically recommend renting Arbour House
