This updated, three-level cabin is tucked among the pines 3 miles up the west side of beautiful Payette Lake in a quiet, tree-covered neighborhood of classic Payette Lake cottages and cabins. The cabin was fully renovated (expanded and winterized) in 2006 to include walls of windows, modern amenities, and warm, wood finishes throughout. The cabin was updated again in 2015 with all new appliances, linens, and finishing touches. Only 12 miles to Brundage Ski Resort and 5 miles to downtown McCall, yet you will feel like you are in a different world.
What makes this cabin truly unique is the easy access to three community beaches on Payette Lake during the summer and access to miles of trails for winter snowshoeing. All three beach accesses are a short walk or bike ride along kid-safe, no-traffic, rustic, lakeside lanes. 'Wagon Wheel Bay Beach' is a 3-5 minute walk from the cabin and is a 50 foot shared beach on secluded Wagon Wheel Bay. 'Pine Haven Beach' is also a 3-5 minute walk to a 50 foot shared beach. 'Chipmunk Beach' is a 10 minute walk (or 3 minute bike ride) and is a larger 250 foot shared beach. Summer days and evenings on Payette Lake are right at your fingertips.
Across Warren Wagon Road are miles of trails and forest roads that connect to Bear Basin trails and (for the truly adventurous) all the way up to Brundage Mountain Resort and beyond. Great for hiking, biking, trail running, or ATV adventures in the summer and snowshoeing, snow machines in the winter. There is also a paved, 1.5 mile path across Warren Wagon Road - great for a family walk or to let the little ones test out their biking skills.
3.5 miles further up the west side of the lake along Warren Wagon Road is secluded North Beach with a boat launch and SUP, kayak, and canoe rentals throughout the summer (contact Backwoods Adventures for details) - the North Fork of the Payette River enters the lake at North Beach - a paddle up the North Fork is a must do.
The cabin's ground/entry level has a welcoming front patio with seating. This floor includes a Bedroom with queen bed (sleeps 2) a second Bedroom with two sets of bunk beds (sleeps 4), and a full Bathroom. Both bedrooms have a large closet, there is also a mud/storage room for your toys, and there are a new washer and dryer on this level. Each room has it's own heating unit.
The main (2nd) floor is an open concept with high, vaulted ceilings, exposed wood finishes throughout, and 2 walls of windows offering amazing natural light and never-ending views of the surrounding trees. Truly a cozy cabin in the woods. The main floor includes a family room with a comfortable leather couch and love seat, a wood burning stove for our cool mountain evenings, and a wall-mounted 42" flat screen TV with Apple TV (iTunes, Netflix). There is a fully-equipped, updated kitchen including dishwasher, disposal, electric range, refrigerator with ice maker (all stainless steel), and a 4-stool breakfast bar. The kitchen is open to the main living area. In addition to the breakfast bar, there is a small dining area with seating for up to 6. There is a full bathroom on the main floor. A highlight of the main floor is the outdoor deck with a picnic table, new gas grill, and 'fire pit' - don't forget the s'mores. The perfect spot for relaxing with a book or making memories with family and friends after a day at the beach or exploring the mountains and lakes surrounding McCall. There is a wonderful wood-burning stove that warms the main floor and loft as well as two 10-foot wall heaters to keep the space cozy.
The third level is a semi-private loft with a queen bed (sleeps 2) surrounded by windows so you feel like you are up in the trees. The loft overlooks the main living area. There is a smaller flat screen TV in the loft that is connected to a Roku player. Send the kids upstairs for a movie while the grownups relax downstairs.
There is a collection of games and puzzles in the downstairs bunk room and a collection of books in the queen bedroom downstairs.
We hope you choose our Lovers Lane Lake Cabin to be your home away from home for your McCall adventures and, more importantly, we hope you have a wonderful visit.
