Steps to 20th street beach access (and 20th street life guard station) and walk to Del Mar Village. Read the reviews for this property before passing it by! Sand and Surf in Del Mar Beach Colony!
We enjoyed our stay! Location was amazing with a short walk to the beach and downtown Del Mar! We loved sitting on the front deck and watching the sunset. The host accommodated our request for early check in and late check out. She also allowed us to add a night to our reservation very last minute. All around a great VRBO!!

Wonderful Beachside Retreat - book now!
We would 100% stay here again. My family and I (2 adults, 2 kids (6 and 4) had a great experience at this home. The location is fantastic - it's a 3 minute walk to the 20th Street beach. The beach is amazing. And there's a lifeguard tower right at 20th St in case you have little ones. Plus, the 20th Street beach is less crowded than the 17th Street beach so this is a nice one! Although the house is approximately 1300 square feet the layout makes it feel much larger. (And, parents - there's a separate room where your kiddos can watch tv!) Allison is very responsive. The AC wasn't working and she had someone over to the house the next morning to fix. She promptly responded to texts and questions. The only thing worth noting - If you're a light/picky sleeper, some of the beds are not very comfortable. We have a couple picky sleepers in our family (not me!) so this was a minor issue (but not a big deal). We took our kids to Legoland, the USS Midway, and the Wild Animal Park and this was a great home base. If you're looking for an awesome location and great house, you should hit that "book" button! We loved our time in the beach house. Del Mar is my happy place and we loved being in such a great location. Being able to bring our dog was so much fun also and Alison communicated promptly and efficiently.

Amazing house & just steps to the beach. Perfectly situated, quiet and very private
You’ll be amazed at the beach access and the beach itself. There’s a beautiful access point about 100 steps from the house and the beach has a private feel and is almost always uncrowded. The house itself is finely appointed and the hosts, very cool people, have accounted for everything a family needs for a San Diego destination getaway or beach trip. We’ll be back for sure!!

Why they chose this property

We love this house as is it right in the middle of all Del Mar has to offer, the sand, the surf, the racetrack and fair. You can't get closer to the beach unless you are on the sand! It is the perfect size, roomy and clean. Updated & fresh! Well maintained cottage by the sea. Great private backyard space - and spacious front porch area. Walking distance to Del Mar Village, fine dining and shopping. No need to leave, but should you want to go see more of San Diego, you are close enough to other main attractions - the zoo, Legoland, Seaworld, the Wild Animal Park. If you want to venture downtown to the GasLamp District, you could go see the Padres play or visit Seaport Village. Lots of historical buildings and museums in Balboa Park. Or stay in the area and take a short drive to Del Mar Highlands (Cineopolis, fine dining, grocery store, shopping. Can't beat America's Finest City!

What makes this property unique

Listen to the waves crash on the shore while sitting on the front porch. BBQ in the backyard. Stroll to the beach and watch the sunset and the green flash. This home is just the right size and in the perfect private location. Updated and clean. All Del Mar has to offer is within walking distance - other San Diego attractions just a short drive away!
