About susan

From the Navajo reservation, where I worked as a wilderness instructor, inviting the students to explore & experience the beauty of their reservation/ I traveled north to Montana to continue my schooling at MSU and join my family. Together with my family we acquired a beautiful & wild section of land and I have been here ever since.

Our children were born here and are now grown.

Now, my home is open to you!

susan purchased this estate in 1983

Why susan chose Bozeman

This is a magical place on the planet!

Its location is very secluded , where you are one with nature yet only 4 miles from downtown Bozeman.

What makes this estate unique

VIEWS! From the property you can see The Gallatin Range, The Spanish Peaks, The Tobacco Roots, The Bridgers!

The wild animals roam these hills.

It is magical to hear the snorting of the deer and the song of the coyotes, the cry of the night hawks, the coo of the horned owls.

This is a beautiful place to discover peace and solitude.

Amazing View, Cozy Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in March, 2018 and absolutely loved it! The owner has everything you could possibly need for an amazing stay. The views are breathtaking and the cabin is cozy. We just had a wonderful time here and would definitely stay again!

Unique home, super convenient with beautiful views of the Bozone.

Very unique little home. Perfect for smaller families. That said, my wife and I were comfortable in this home with our four children. Highly recommended for those looking for a unique place to stay in Bozeman.

I am not one to leave reviews. As a consumer I was treated poorly. I wish there was some way to hold VRBO owners accountable for what they say vs. what happens. The owner was not honest about a number of things pertaining to the cabin. The road had not been plowed and was a challenge to get up after a long day of travel for some. It would have been easy enough to let us know we needed 4wd. We rented this space for a mellow baby shower and things were complicated. The steps leading down to the cabin were complete ice and the owner was asked about it and did nothing. We are a group of tough outdoor woman but the steps had zero grip and my friend was 8 months pregnant. This is just the start but I am not taking the time to list every detail. I hope there can be some accountability.

Owner's Response: >Yes, this guest broke the rules. Andrea said there were four people in her party and there were eight. And now she is unhappy because she had to pay. Originally, Andrea made the reservation for 5 people and than changed it to 4 people to reduce her fee/ I gave her a fifty dollar refund. However, she brought in a total of 8 people! The property clearly state that the maximum is for six people. The group had too many cars and the log/cottage has a space for two vehicles. I ran the shuttle for her friends (they were pleased and cordial). Andrea, I am sorry you are so overly challenged with life at this moment. I hope you find peace and settle into the great beauty that surrounds you. take care, Susan p.s. as you know there were two shovels, sand & salt to assist you for whatever needed attending to. I believe someone in your 'party' spoke to my mother who offered her services and also gave you the above information. Your disappointment come from the fact that you broke the rules of this rental/ and vrbo had you pay the extra fee and now you are disappointed in your behavior. It's okay, its all part of the learning of being honest . I wish you well. CongratuLations, You have a new baby friend in the world!!!

Wonderful family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time with our three teens during Thanksgiving week. The property is the perfect distance from town, so we felt like we were 'away from it all' but close enough to enjoy all that Bozeman has to offer (and we had great views of the town and surrounding mountain ranges! ) We can only imagine how great this place is during the summer since there is a pond and lots of water activities to go with it. Lovely cabin on the inside with all the amenities. Thank you for sharing your property with us, Susan!!

This section of property has been slowly & meticulously created into a luxury vacation area for the past 33 years.

The log/cottage is nestled into the hillside 600 ft above the Gallatin Valley. Perched above the historical camp ground of the Lewis & Clark/Sacajawea expedition of 1805.

The Pond:

The Ponds are spring fed/ the first two ponds act as filters for the acre size pond that is available for swimming, diving, canoeing, and tubing the day away.

The east side of the pond has a full size sand Volley Ball Court, sand Horse Shoe pit, full size sand Bocce Ball Court, 200' of beach, picnic tables with umbrellas, (room for a dozen tables), a cabin with a refrig, wood stove and a single bed platform.

On the south bank there is a deck tucked in the aspen grove/ from here you can absorb the beauty of the pond and the expansive, uninterrupted view of the Bridger Mountains.

A path through the aspen grove takes you along the west side of the pond and continues up to the Log/Cottage or back around to the beach.
