3 bedroom 3 bathroom ocean view home in the heart of North Saanich!

The Space:

A newly renovated 1940's, 1800 square foot home. Beautiful ocean and garden views, bright and open. Lots of room for parking. Full kitchen with stainless steel appliances (brand new dishwasher!). Two living/sitting rooms: one bright and airy sunroom and one huge living room with ocean view, fireplace, flat screen TV and dining area. The house features beautiful local and international art work and high-end furniture and finishes.

Two bedrooms and pullout couch are on the main floor and one bedroom is just down a flight of stairs. Master bedroom has a king sized bed and 2 ensuite bathrooms (1 with walk-in shower, 2nd with soaker tub); other two bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed. Pull-out couch in the sunroom (main floor) can accommodate 2 more people (for a total of 8 in the main suite). Third bathroom with tub/shower and heated tile floors is also on the main floor and is shared between the other two bedrooms.

This property features a large yard with ocean views, open and covered patio areas with Weber BBQ, flower gardens, an orchard, and veggie and herb gardens for your dining pleasure (seasonal!). Very comfortable and welcoming.

The kitchen has everything you need to feel at home. Tea, locally roasted coffee, sugar, preserves and select spices are included. Help yourselves to sauces and any creamers left in the fridge as well! Drying rack available if you don't need/want the dishwasher.

Guest Access:

Full kitchen, 2 living rooms, wireless internet, cable TV, PVR, Netflix, Blu-ray player and DVDs, large yard with a small orchard (apples, pears and plums), 2 open patios, one large covered patio (shared with basement suite), and a shared Weber BBQ.

A shared laundry room is available for stays of 5 nights or longer. There are five steps to get into the home, then everything is on one level (except laundry room & 3rd bedroom) so very walker/wheelchair friendly once inside.

Bathrooms have fresh towels, hair dryer and soap for your use and bedrooms have spare linens for lengthier stays. Bedrooms and bathrooms all have big opening windows so you can enjoy fresh ocean air during your stay!

Interaction with Guests:

I will not be at the house during your visit, but will be available at all times should you need anything! This is the home that I live in when you aren't there, so if you ever need anything extra I likely have it somewhere in the house :-) Just ask!

House Rules:

This is a non-smoking home and property. NO EXCEPTIONS! $50 fine for smoking anywhere on the property. Please treat my home with respect and care for it the way you would care for a space you love. I have other guests in my basement suite, so please be respectful of noise, especially at night and early in the morning (including heavy footsteps...). Quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am. $200 fine if a neighbour complains or if the police are called to the house.

Laundry room is only available for stays of 5 nights or longer.

Pets are welcome with approval first, but they are not permitted on the beds or on the furniture. There is a one-time $20 fee for pets.

If you use the BBQ, you must clean it after (scrape and brush), turn off the propane and put the cover back on.

Lastly, please do your own dishes, turn off the heat and lights, and put any used towels in a pile outside the laundry room before you check-out. Thank you!

Lovely home

We stayed here for a family event in Sidney. It was perfect for 5 adults and a 1.5 year old. It's a short drive to downtown Sidney and the ferries. Up the road is a little bakery that is very cute. My daughter loved running from one side of the house to the other. With everything being on one floor, it was perfect for a toddler. The backyard is peaceful and private for the warm summer nights. We would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks!

Delightful home!

We enjoyed our stay very much. We were a family of 4 adults and 4 kids (between ages of 6 and 12). The home was spacious, comfortable and clean. Location is great. Shannon's attention to details (books, games, dvd player for a rainy day , ambience etc) as well as the apple trees and amazing view made our visit memorable.

We would absolutely stay here again.

It was great, loved everything about it.

Getting ready for a wedding is super stressful but finding Shannon's home took a few worries off the table. A dishwasher would have made it even better, just to save time, but it certainly didn't make or break the experience. The exterior was beautiful too. A tad noisy with the Hwy traffic but again a small detail that was easy to dismiss. We all enjoyed our time, there was plenty of rooms to be alone or together, great lighting with the natural light for the makeup artists and photographer to find perfect spots to make their magic happen. All in all a wonderful stay.

Lovely Stay

We enjoyed our stay very much. Beautiful garden and lovely views. The home was spacious, comfortable and clean. Location is great. One bedroom was a bit warm, and there is a bit of highway noise when windows are open, but overall a tremendous value. We would absolutely stay here again.

Shannon, you have thought of everything and more. Your home is not just great, it makes everyone feel at home. From a senior citizen to a 20 year old, everyone felt 'genuinely at home'. From comfort of the well stocked kitchen, to every room having a personality, to the ease of seeing my favorite Netflix documentary to the options of what all to do outdoors, your beauty of a place contributed to our enjoyment. Your house is for figures in the all-time top 3 for the global holidays over the last decade . There is another in Ports Catho in Cornwall UK and one on Lincoln NH that are as memorable for us. Your rules are clear, your house makes every guest feel like we should preserve this comfort and beauty.

Why Shannon chose North Saanich

My home is in the heart of North Saanich. It's super easy to zip onto the highway and get to downtown Victoria, or head into the quaint Town of Sidney for some awesome restaurants, local shopping and a waterfront stroll. My yard is huge and the house is just minutes to the ocean. I have an orchard with apples, plums and pears, as well as herb and veggies gardens, strawberries and raspberries. Makes it easy to enjoy local eats in the spring and summer! Tons of farms nearby for all the extra fruit and veg that I don't have :-)

What makes this house unique

I'm a 2 minute drive or 20 minute walk to Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse, and 15 minutes from any winery on the Peninsula and Butchart Gardens. I'm just 5 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from Sidney, and 15 minutes to the ferry terminal. Dean Park is a 5 minute drive up the hill and has amazing hiking trails and a gorgeous viewpoint! Lots of farms nearby to get fresh produce all year round.


Car: recommended

Fabulous Sea Cider Farm and Cidery just a 20 minute walk down the road and a half dozen wineries just a 15 drive away. Butchart Gardens also just a 15 minute drive. Rural home with lots of farms, parks and beaches nearby.
