About Amanda

We are transplants from California, and moved to Boston for the weather... seriously! We love the seasons, the history, the architecture and the people of Boston.

Amanda purchased this townhome in 2011

Why Amanda chose Charlestown

We bought this home 7 years ago out of an estate. The former owners had lovingly cared for it, with 4 generations of their family having lived in it. It had not been updated since 1969, and as a professional interior designer I was looking for a restoration project. 7 years (and complete gut-renovation later) we'd like to take a bit of a break and travel the country, offering this home as a rental.

What makes this townhome unique

Our home lives on Monument Ave and the Revolutionary War's Breed's Hill (aka Bunker Hill) in the neighborhood of Charlestown. This street is host to the annual Bunker Hill parade in June as well as the Halloween Children's parade. The Charlestown neighborhood is the family-friendly neighborhood to live in as it's only a 5-7 minute bus ride downtown (or 15 minute walk) yet it's removed from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Beautiful Historic Home in the perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here with 3 kids and 3 adults visiting family in the area. We love the charm of historic old homes, and this one has been renovated and furnished so nicely. Mattresses were excellent, and there were nice touches throughout to make the guest feel comfortable and welcome. The location was perfect and central to everything. We will stay here again if we come back to Boston!

Great house, great location, great owner

  • 5 of 5

This 160 year old house was just right for seven adults in town for a wedding. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location made access to all parts of city easy for us by using a combination of walking, public transport and app rides. The neighborhood is friendly and interesting with just about anything you could want or need within a short walking distance. My only wish was for better internet connection because a couple of us needed to work while there.
