This oceanfront, corner, unit with floor to ceiling windows along two walls looks into the harbour in downtown Victoria. If this unit is booked, we have another unit in the building. We also can accommodate some two day rentals

Sit on your private covered balcony and watch the boats in the inner and upper harbours during the day and the sunsets at night.

Walk to all downtown amenities. Take in whale watching, kayaking, water taxi and biking right outside your door on the wharf. BBQ or relax on the roof top patio.

Located in the heart of downtown Victoria in the Mermaid building. On the waterfront of the harbour and the edge of the Gorge waterway, the Mermaid Building allows its guests to experience downtown Victoria, the Inner Harbour, the Gorge Waterway, the ocean, the upper part of the island and Vancouver, with ease.

Some of Victoria’s most popular restaurants surround the building, making it easy to have gourmet meals with out the worry of taxis or drinking and driving.

Take a Whale watching tour right outside the door. Or rent a kayak and glide through the harbour to the open ocean to discover the Pacific’s wild life. Or paddle up the Gorge waterway and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Salmon Fish with a charter or rent a power boat and just take it easy touring Victoria from the water’s perspective.

Just steps away, the harbour sea planes take passengers in a half hour flight to downtown Vancouver, offering great shopping on Robson street, Theatres, Stanley Park and more, and all in a day allowing one to return home for dinner.

The Mermaid neighbours Historic China Town with its many vegetable stores, restaurants and curio shops.

Cycle, stroll, run, or even ride a horse on the picturesque Galloping Goose Trail. This multi-use trail, formerly a railway line, moves right beside the Mermaid Building, through urban, rural and wilderness scenery on its 55-kilometre journey from Victoria to Sooke. Whether you're commuting to work, meandering on a weekend afternoon or pacing yourself from Sidney to Sooke, the trail is yours to enjoy.

Catch the little Harbour Ferry stopping at the Mermaid and travel right up the Gorge waterway to Tillicum and down to the Empress.

Great Location on the Water

Very nice apartment on the harbour. You are right at the China Town harbour frerry stop which is a fun way to get any number of places you'd like to go. Underground parking is available at no additional cost though we ultimately didn't rent the car for a day or two like we thought.

Francis, the property manager met us at the airport. On the trip into Victoria Francis was a fountain of knowledge regarding the area and his presence expedited the process of access.

We had experienced problems on the United Airline to Air Canada connection at Vancouver. The necessary signage wasn't present and without "Nexus" you won't be able to connect in anything less than 90 minutes...I'd allow two hours. If you're coming from the states do yourself a huge favor if you can afford a seaplane flight from Seattle on Kenmore Air. If moving onto Vancouver, "Harbour Air" is our best of friends. Unforgettable stuff.

The Canoe Restaurant we saw in apartment reviews was fantastic. Also, JAM for breakfast worked for us. Try the "French Toast" and see if you can finish.

Great views, awesome condo & location.

The condo is in a very central location and captures views of the whole harbour, very bright and sunny inside, nicely furnished and comfy. Would highly recommend it as it is close to every amenity, within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, pubs, Chinatown, on and on. Great place - would definitely come back.

Unit was not as booked

We booked this unit almost one year ago. When we arrived at the building we were greeted by Gary. He never said anything about this not being the unit we booked. After he left we looked at each other and said this is not what we booked. A call to Francis confirmed that the unit we booked was occupied so they put us in this 'spare' condo. He said that it would be quieter on this side. It did not have a separate bedroom . Having said that , the unit was ok, clean, comfy bed, view of the bridge. He offered a bottle of wine as compensation but it never happened. We were fine with it but felt it just wasn't handled properly. The building is secure and we had no problem with the elevator fob as others have mentioned. Location is convenient to Canoe brewpub and Fish Hook restaurants and Chinatown. However it is very close to an outreach centre and there were lots of homeless hanging about. We were never bothered by them, but in the future we would stay more centrally.

We had breakfast at the Sour Pickle which was good. We walked everywhere.

Lovely and centrally located condo. Very easy to get anywhere around Victoria.

The condo was very clean and nice. Gary was wonderful and communicative. Be sure to bring your own seasonings and oil for cooking. Don’t forget to bring coffee, sugar, etc if desired. Condo does not offer these. I didn’t cook so it wasn’t a problem. Coffee was easy to find.

Had a great time. Would come again!!
