About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

We loved the fireplace

Cozy home and very clean.

The upstairs bath had no light .

The bear box was full when we got here so no place to put trash.

No face cloths and the fan in living room was not working. But we enjoyed our stay

Great except beds

This house worked well for us and we loved the quiet Truckee neighborhood. However, the queen mattresses in two bedrooms need to be replaced.

A big cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

Overall, the house was warm, had plenty of space, and met our needs. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

It snowed every day during our five day stay. The snow plow came at 6:15 each morning waking our kids sleeping in the room above the garage. This resulted in an early start, but without the snow plow we would have been stranded. We were disappointed we could not park in the garage because it was full of the owners' things and also not deep enough for us to pull into even if we had tried to move all the items. The storms brought power outages to the downtown, ski resorts, and to the house - we counted 5. We would have appreciated an emergency kit: candles, flashlights, instructions on how to contact the power company, etc. Daily the wifi connection went out, sometimes for minutes and the longest was 6 hours. This added to the stress of the storms.

The kids enjoyed the snowshoes and sleds available for our use. Neighbor dogs roamed around and ran up to us, which was a bit unsettling. The kids enjoyed playing in the snow surrounding the property when we could not leave due to weather conditions.

Because of the storms and power outages in town, we had to make most our own meals. The kitchen had 2 knives (one serrated and one non), no tupperware, and no saran wrap, tinfoil, baggies, etc. The measuring cups had the measurements worn off and I had to guess as there was not a complete set. Adding a few of these items would refresh it and add to it's value. The plastic securing the spinning glass plate of the microwave was broken, making it difficult to use.

The taxidermy animal head was a surprise. It was not in any of the pictures. I would suggest you add a photo of it, as it may be important to future renters. My children wouldn't use the third bedroom upstairs as they were afraid to go under it. The overall decor of the home was tasteful and had a cabin-in-the-woods feel.

We have tried to reach Vasca, the management company, by phone and by email. We have not gotten a response. We left a personal item at the cabin and cannot reach anyone regarding it.

We had a wonderful weekend! The house was very clean and well stocked. It was very comfortable and kept up. The backyard was a great place for the kids to play in the snow and sled around. Very close to downtown Truckee. We will definitely come back again!!

Amazing weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

We had an awesome weekend! The house was very clean and well stocked. It was very comfortable and is kept up well. Great location, very close to Dowtown Truckee. We had a lot of snow, but once we cleared the deck off, it was a great place for the kids to go out and play and sled in the snow without having to go far. We will definitely go back again!
