About the property

2 bedroom, 2 bath, Sleeps 6

You can’t beat the views from this 7th floor condo! Just steps away from the beach and pool, you'll enjoy this well decorated 2 bedroom condo with all its amenities. This unit is the perfect size for a family of five, or a getaway with friends. It sleeps 6 comfortably with a new pull out sofa.

Open up the balcony and enjoy the sunrise as you drink your morning coffee. Or wind down with a cocktail and enjoy the stars and moonscape. Sliding glass doors let you open up the balcony to both the living room and pool area.

Two new comfy couches and a 40-inch flat-screen LCD TV in the living room will keep you entertained when you don’t want to be outside. WiFi is available throughout the unit for Internet access.

A fully outfitted kitchen is open to the bright, airy living space, which has a dining table for six. If you prefer to dine al fresco, gas grills and a bar and dining tables are available downstairs at the cabana. Or eat out at one of many wonderful restaurants nearby.

The spacious master bedroom has a king bed and another TV. A second bedroom has three twin beds. Two full baths give everyone quick access to showers after playing on the beach or in the pool. Bed linens and bath towels are provided. Free laundry facility on the seventh floor.

A white, sandy beach and shallow waters warmed by the Gulf Stream are perfect for swimming, surfing, or boogie boarding. Build a sand castle or walk down the beach to Johnnie Mercer’s Pier. The pool area offers comfortable lounge chairs, two shaded cabanas with chairs and tables, an ice machine, barbeque grills, an outdoor shower and restrooms.

The small town of Wrightsville Beach combines older, Carolina-style cottages with newer ones. There is very little neon, 'honky-tonk' business. Biking, kayaking, and boating are favorite pastimes in addition to the usual beach and sand fun. If you have the occasional rainy day, you will be glad! The city of Wilmington lays right across the drawbridge and is loaded with fascinating things to do. The Cape Fear River runs through downtown and the long boardwalk and historic Cotton Exchange are filled with unique boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. For culture hounds there is the Cameron Art Museum, one of the best in the Southeast. Theater, music venues, art galleries, and historic houses abound. In addition, there is a large, newish shopping center near Wrightsville, watersides, putt-putt golf, movies, and even the Cape Fear Serpentarium.

If you have a question about what to see or do, the Islander’s friendly, helpful staff are on site during the day and will be happy to guide you.

Blissful Peace

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Islander at this property was blissfully peaceful. The condo was clean and sufficient. The view from the balcony on the seventh floor was perfectly relaxing. We would definitely stay again.

This condo is in dire need of repair! The lights in the room with the twin beds didn't work at all, my husband had to find them on the breaker box to get 2 out of 5 in that room working. Other lights didn't work either, at least one ceiling light and a lamp in the living room had to be plugged and unplugged, the switch didn't work. Also, the first 2 days we were there the hot water wouldn't come on in the master bath or sink no matter how long it ran and checking both hot and cold knobs. The tub in the guest shower wouldn't drain at all the first day so we got Liquid Plummer and my husband fooled with it until it started draining 2 days into our stay. The curtains don't work very well, the keys are finicky, the garbage disposal smells badly, the balcony ceiling was falling apart and had black all over it, the carpets are stained, and the balcony door in the master bedroom was broken. Obviously the place needs to be renovated and had I been told before choosing the condo how old everything was and that it was on the market, I would have chosen somewhere else. At the suggestion of the woman working daily at the Islander, Kris, we sent a message to the owner about all this so they were aware but received no response. She did send a message to ask if the condo could be shown to prospective buyers while we were there which we declined, we didn't want anyone in there while we weren't in the room. We gave it 2 stars only because the area was gorgeous with a great beach. Overall, it was much less than we were expecting from the presentation on the website and the cost was too high for what we experienced. Once I was told by Kris that the owner was trying to sell it, I realized it's a condo that has been ignored for quite a long time and again, had we known any of this, we wouldn't have rented it. We would appreciate along with our security deposit, a partial refund due to the "service" to the shower and lights we had to do along with dealing with the condition of this outdated condo.

Enjoyed the location but the unit left much to be desired. For the money, not good.

Location great, unit needs some improvements.

  • 4 of 5

Location great. 7E a bit run down but clean. Chunk of plaster on balcony roof missing(safety concern) No kitchen towels or potholders only 1 bath towel and wash cloth each. Internet hit and miss. We stayed at the Islander before and the other unit was better equipped. For what it cost we expected better. Would stay at Islander again but check on condition of unit 1st. Overall a great stay.
