About the property

Enjoy a relaxing island getaway in this beautifully appointed 2 bed room, 1 bath no-bank waterfront beach cottage. Heron Point Cottage sits at the end of Long Point, one of the most beautiful and private beaches on Whidbey Island. With 180 degree unobstructed views of Penn Cove, Mt Baker and Camano Island, the house is a place to get away from it all and relax.
The beautiful beachfront deck is a perfect place to watch the sun rise, grill up dinner and eat al fresco as the sun sets, unwind with a good book, or simply enjoy the views. Step off the deck onto the sandy beach where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the 700 feet of beachfront on Long Point. In summer build a beach fire where you can enjoy roasted marshmallows or mussels and clams you have dug from the beach; sunbathe, wiggle your toes in the sand, build driftwood sculptures and discover interesting intertidal life. In the winter the house is the perfect place to cozy up to the fire, read and listen to music. Year-round you can beach comb on the beach that is just for residents of the neighborhood. Look for treasures and watch the teaming bird-life on and around the point. Nature is at your doorstep at this unique and cozy cottage. Seals, bald eagles, deer and of course, great blue herons may visit you during your stay.

A mix of contemporary and traditional furnishings create a warm and welcoming feeling the moment you enter the beach house. Stunning views from every window let in light and magic. The beach house sleeps 6 and is an ideal destination for memorable vacations, celebrations, or quiet retreats. The owners have furnished the house with art and comfortable furniture meant to be lived in. The 'great room' features tall ceilings, a conversation area, gas fireplace, dining area, and a kitchen that is equipped with high end equipment and appliances. It is a welcoming place to sit and talk, curl up with a book, watch TV on the 42” smart TV or simply watch the day drift by.

The master bedroom features a king bed with double french doors leading onto a deck with direct views and access to the beach. The 2nd guest room has a queen bed and a loft bed for a child 8-16. Both bedrooms are equipped with 38” smart TV’s. There is a queen fold out sofa in the living room.

Heron Point Cottage is family friendly! It is also non-smoking, and pet free for those with allergies.

Heron Point Cottage is a 30 minute drive from the Clinton ferry dock and 2 miles south of Coupeville. Coupeville is a quaint historic town, nestled in the heart of Penn Cove where you'll find antiques, many handcrafted items from our established artist community, and fine dining. A short 10-minute drive from the cottage is a world-class bluff hike in Ebey’s Reserve and panoramic views of Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains. Coupeville hosts several summer weekend festivals as well as a variety of wineries/ tasting rooms. The Coupeville area is tranquil and charming and the place to be on Whidbey Island.

You will surely create happy memories during your stay at Heron Point Cottage.

Beautiful and Comfortable!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely six night stay at this property! The house is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and well-stocked. The highlight is the location which took our breath away when we entered the first time. Photo do not capture how awesome the view is in two directions. You cannot see any other houses from the living room and kitchen. You feel like you are surrounded by water and wildlife. We saw snow capped mountains, eagles (everyday except one), hummingbirds, a sea lion and rabbits. It’s very quiet. When you sit outside, all you hear is the water. We didn’t want to leave and hope to come back soon!

Perfection

  • 5 of 5

This was our third time staying at the Heron Cottage. We just love it. This year we invited some friends to come with us. They loved it! We saw lots of eagles, herons and seal lions. We brought our Corn Hole game played for a couple of hours each day. We took a ride on the Keystone Ferry over to Port Townsend for one of the days and it just happen to be the day of the Rhododendron Parade. It was a perfect day. We explored Langley and Coupeville again. It was a wonderful weekend and we hope to be back again next year.

Another beautiful stay!

  • 5 of 5

Oh how I love this vacation home! This was our second time visiting and it was even better than I remembered. We got lucky with awesome weather and saw tons of wildlife from the shore. There is so much to do within a short distance of this home - we explored Port Townsend (a quick ferry ride), Coupeville, Langley, and several local parks. But really, we could have spent our whole time just sitting on the beach right outside the door and been happy. I think we're going to make this one of our go-to local vacation spots.

Truly paradise

  • 5 of 5

The view from the cottage is truly breathtaking. It did not dissapoint at all. The cottage also has everything that you need including beach towels, board games, all the necessary cooking tools, cleaning supplies, etc. I did notice that there wasn’t a non stick pan. I’d probably bring one for next time since I eat eggs every morning. The only thing that I’d recommend for improvement is the water pressure for the shower. But that’s about it!

Eagles, seashells, and sunshine, oh my!

  • 5 of 5

The 180 degree afforded by this corner lot on the end of a spit is breathtaking. The beach is literally at your doorstep. Although the sign next to the immaculately decorated cottage states, private beach only, no trespassing, the footpath which traverses the spit and which people used regularly while I was there is only about 10 feet from the cottage which means the glorious non curtained windows in the living room/kitchen do not allow any privacy. Heron's cottage has all the comforts of home with bucketfuls of relaxation on top!

The Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Though you can not control the weather...our stay at this property was great!

We only stayed for a couple of nights but enjoyed every minute. The house sits perfectly at the end of Long Pt. and you have a 180+ degree view of the water from the front room. We had young kids with us and they could roam the beach and still be in view. During our stay we saw...bald eagles; harbor seals; whales each evening; lots of birds; and the last night we were there a curious river otter ambled across the deck to say 'hello'.

If you want to 'getaway' this is a wonderful place to do just that.
