Make sure to bring your camera to capture the colors and the views. If you are a bird watcher, this is the place for you. If you aren't a bird watcher, you will be after your relaxing stay! Do you miss seeing the stars at night? At "Pinehurst at Goldwater Lake" you will have an experience of bright, clear skies and falling stars. Don't forget to make a wish!
Perfect weather, with cool evenings and warm, (not hot) summers. If you like an occasional afternoon rain we have those too during our monsoon season as well as snow on occasion during some winter months. (It is always recommended you bring chains.) "Pinehurst at Goldwater Lake" is in the pines at an elevation of 6100 feet and the road is curvy and narrows at times. Once you are in the subdivision the roads are dirt and the driveway is uphill from Pinehurst Drive. These are well maintained roads. During snowy periods there may be ice on the sloped driveway, which is also dirt, so vehicles may require chains for access. Keep safety in mind for yourself and our neighbors.
Christmas is very special here. We are called the 'Christmas City'. The town square and the Court House are a blaze with lights. Businesses open their doors for local singers and bands, serving hot chocolate. Old fashioned? You bet... Small Town USA. We are dog friendly too, just walk to the town square and you will see every dog on the AKC list and some you haven't. Farmers markets are plentiful here along with local artists. Don't miss 'The Worlds Oldest Rodeo', June 29th - July 5th. Get your tickets now before they sell out. Have you ever watched the classic Steve McQueen's movie, Junior Bonner? Some of that was filmed right here in Prescott. A famous bar scene was filmed at the Palace Bar which opened its doors in 1877 and is still open to this day. Full dining and a large bar.

Our cottage in the pines is just above upper Goldwater Lake, which you will pass on your right as you wind your way up the hill from downtown Prescott. Fishing, kayaking, canoeing or just picnicking are available activities there. You can even hike down to the lake from our cottage in around 30 minutes.
Unique shopping and dining are to be had. For organic dining try The Raven, with live bands and roof top dining. Don't miss Nectar, A Modern Herbal Apothecary for the best Teas! The Honey Man is in Prescott and Prescott Valley. Lot's of local honey and earthy, organic foods.
We have many antique and specialty consignment shops too. Three Sisters is 5 minutes out of town. Dana, the owner has new and interesting items. If you want the real deal for custom boots made to fit only your feet, Paul is your guy. He owns PK Bootmaker on Whiskey Row. If a traditional Mall is something you need, we have a small one, with Sears, Dillard's and Penney's stores. Trader Joe's, Whole foods, and Sprouts are here as well.
If our guests have any health issues that may need medical attention, Yavapai Regional Medical Center made Consumer Reports Top 10 Hospitals in the Country for surgery. In addition, we have a VA hospital here. The Fort Whipple Museum is located on the grounds of the Bob Stump Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
You will be staying just above upper and lower Goldwater Lakes at a cool elevation of 6100 feet and will be close to two other lakes; Watson Lake (9 miles away) and Willow Creek Reservoir (11 miles away). For you shooting enthusiasts we have half a dozen choices of indoor and outdoor shooting ranges, all within 20 minutes drive time from our property. Don't forget that the Grand Canyon South Rim is a short 2 hours ride by car or take the train from Williams and have a fun experience on the train.
