About Mary Kabat

Our first trip to Prescott was in September, 2013, and the VRBO house that we rented was a hub to all the activities that we had planned. We spent time at the Grand Canyon, planned a balloon ride in Sedona, went horseback riding, golfing and rented a jeep for the day. It was such a great trip that we came back in November and began looking at properties. We purchased this home in the summer of 2014 and spent a year updating it for a VRBO. We welcome you to be one of the first to stay in our Prescott Vacation Home. Feel free to call with any questions. Mary & Jerry Kabat

Why Mary Kabat chose Prescott

We are from the Midwest so what we loved about this area included the following:

Cool Summers, Warmer Winters, Green Foliage and Changing Fall Colors. Prescott is centrally located to so many places to go and see... you can travel north to higher elevations or south to the big city life and much warmer climates!

We purchased this home for the location to the downtown area. We wanted to be walking distance to town, banks, restaurants and a grocery store.

What makes this house unique

"Why Prescott? According to the readers and published by the Daily Courier: "Nestled in the conifer forests of the Bradshaw Mountains, Prescott is a historic city boasting much in the way of adventure and culture. Golfers flock to its six pristine courses, while outdoor enthusiasts find exciting hiking trails, secluded picnicking spots and adventure on the waters of its five lakes. Discover the history of the Old West in the city's museums, historic railways and the Pioneer Home Cemetery, where "Big Nose Kate" Elder, wife of Doc Holiday, found her final resting place."

Prescott is #3 of the Top destinations on the rise in the U.S.

Close to everything

  • 5 of 5

This house was amazingly close to everything. We brought our bikes and we were able to bike to downtown, although the bike ride coming home was a little tiring considering you had to go uphill. The house was beautiful and very clean. The front yard and the putting green was were we spent a lot of our time, my kids loved just playing around with toys while we sat on the deck. The owners were easy to work with and we look forward to staying in this house again.

This home is a cozy, very well furnished with the modern appliances but retains it's 1900's charm.

We enjoyed our stay in Prescott. This home is easy walking distance to Whiskey Row with it's

shops and especially the Prescott brewery with it's Microbrews and good food, the Berry patch a few steps away also has good food. We golfed Antelope Hills which has a very friendly and helpful staff. Watson Lake is a good place to enjoy the view and do some hiking.

All the amenities of home, nothing is forgotten

  • 5 of 5

The Virginia House was a remodeled older home. The Kabats did a wonderful job of preserving the old woodwork and arched doorway to the old dining room (now master bedroom), but putting in new touches like cupboards, granite countertops, and new bathroom sinks, faucets, showers and toilets. The laundry was high-end Maytag, and all the appliances were new and new dishes, glassware, silverware, and pots and pans. We used the putting green outside the first two days, but then the polar vortex followed us from MN and it snowed Mon. and Fri. and was windy and cold. The guidebooks said they only get about 4" of snow all year in Prescott, and we got it all in that one week! We made the best of it and went to the Phippen Art Museum and the Shallot Hall museum. We loved both places. We ate at a great Italian restaurant (Papas) and the best steak I have ever had at Prescott Station Grill and Bar. Everyone in Prescott was so friendly, including Jerry and Mary. We enjoyed our week there despite the unusual weather.

Cozy Cottage in Town

  • 5 of 5

This old fasion house is very cozy yet modern with all the updates on the inside. The beds were very comfortable and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and its walking distance from the downtown square. Also we liked the individual heat controls in each room. Great location.
