About Cassandre Guillen

Sharon, the owner of this property was born and raised in San Diego, California in an Italian American family. She had an early start to her culinary training in her grandparent's kitchen at the age of three. Paul and Rose were amazing cooks, patient teachers and the warmest hosts imaginable. Everyone was welcome at their table, and it was at their table that all celebrations took place. Casual entertaining, preparing heartwarming cuisine and enjoying good wine became her passion and career.

Sharon purchased this property in 2002 and began her catering business in 2009, providing food for winery events was a large portion of her work. This inspired Sharon to earn her certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2014. She has plans to write a series of cookbooks based on her experiences.

Sharon loves to travel, but Feathered Nest is always "home". Everyone who loves beauty and nature, and has a passion for scrumptious food and great wine is invited to visit and share all this paradise has to offer. I live in a cottage on the property and am happy to provide you tips on where to eat, explore and taste. I want to give my guests the experience they desire and can be as involved or as private as they wish.

Cassandre Guillen purchased this chateau / country house in 2002

Why Cassandre Guillen chose Newberg

After visiting my nephew in Newberg in 1996, I fell in love with the area and set my sites on relocating. I was drawn to the spirit, beauty and serenity of the Willamette Valley. In 2002 I accepted a position with a Lake Oswego based company and my dreams of living in the Pacific Northwest became a reality. Six months later I purchased two acres in Newberg and built Feathered Nest, my Wine Country home in 2004. The property is well situated in the country yet on the edge of town with all amenities just a few minutes away. Walk to neighboring wineries, spend the day at the Award Winning Allison Spa or dine in Jory Restaurant only a half mile away.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

She is very knowledgeable about the different wineries in the area and what makes them unique. Wonderful wine-country rendezvous

  • 5 of 5

What a great house and location! 7 of us got together for some wine and family time. Great food, great wine, great quality time together. The recommendations were spot-on. Sitting on the porch with a glass of wine cannot be beat! Plenty of room for private space, but we spent most of the time just hanging out together. We cannot wait until our next visit.

WOW - so so thankful for our stay here!!

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this home at the last minute because of a dear family struggling with a serious medical condition who was not able to travel over the Christmas holidays. Not only did the owners/hosts decorate the house in time for our arrival on Christmas Eve...they had hot enchiladas chicken soup waiting for us after a long journey from CA. The house and property itself were absolutely beautiful and amazing...more than the pictures or descriptions in the listing can communicate...but just as important, I can't say enough about what good people the owners/hosts are...THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH FOR HELPING US MAKE SUCH A WONDERFUL FAMILY MEMORY OVER THE HOLIDAYS!!

Charming country home

  • 4 of 5

Cozy. Perfect for 6 of us. Master bath was spacious, requiring an extra long bath. We even enjoyed a swing on the outdoor wrap around porch.

Great location.... many wineries nearby & in the country, yet close enough to get groceries in town. We enjoyed a walk (loop) down to the Allison Hotel/Jory Restaurant.

We loved our stay in this lovely house. The rooms were comfortably furnished and decorated. The bathrooms were luxurious and beautiful. There were fresh flowers in the rooms and a Welcome Basket of coffee and treats waiting for us. Really enjoyed the porch swing for morning coffee and chats.

Charming house in Oregon wine country

  • 5 of 5

This was our first family trip to Oregon. For the wine country part of our trip we booked this house and we are extremely happy we did that. The house is located close to many wineries, 10-20 min drive. A few small ones are within a walking distance. The house is close to many restaurants, shops and activities. At the same time it’s very private and quiet, with vineyards views from most of the windows. All of the appliances in the house are new and the house is well equipped for someone who is in a mood for cooking. All rooms are beautifully decorated creating a country villa ambiance. The house provided enough space and privacy for our five people group. The owners are incredibly helpful and responded to all our questions before and during the stay. They surprised us with a welcome basket filled with sweets, crackers, cheese and wine. This house is definitely our top choice for our next trip to the Willamette valley.

Absolutely wonderful

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived we felt pampered and able to completely relax. This is a beautiful home in a beautiful area and we felt like we were visiting a friend's home. We appreciated the goodie basket and all of the information about the area. The house is beautifully decorated with fresh flowers throughout. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything needed for all types of cooking. The bathrooms were luxurious and stocked with all the bath products one could need. Cassandre and Sharon have certainly gone the extra mile to make their guests feel welcome and well taken care of.
