About this property

SLICE O' HEAVEN - Stunning Waterfront Views

Welcome to your home on the water, where you can relax, de-stress, and have fun. This lovely, updated home is located on a quiet cove with private dock and good water depth: Go out on the river, drop a line off the dock, watch heron fish and osprey soar, enjoy stunning views of a beautiful sunset while relaxing by the fire, or just nap on the hammock. It’s all here for you.

This riverfront hideaway has everything you need to feel comfortably at home and blissfully away at the same time: sit-on-top Ocean kayaks, Old Town canoe, horseshoes and corn hole, badminton, a screened gazebo with beautiful views, Weber gas grill for barbecues, and a fire pit ringed with stones and Adirondack chairs. You can swim or paddle from our kid-friendly sandy shore on the protected calm waters of our cove, or head out on the Little Wicomico River to explore the nearby inlets. Bring your own boat or Jet Ski to go out on the Chesapeake Bay, less than 15 minutes away by boat, and moor on our dock.

Inside, your newly renovated home welcomes you with redecorated bedrooms, baths, and common areas. You’ll enjoy marvelous views from the spacious and open Great Room, where you can put up your feet in front of the lovely fireplace or have snacks on the peninsula bar. The dining table was custom built in the area and perfectly matches the relaxed mood.

You’re just a couple miles from historic Reedville, with its restaurants and charming ice cream shop. Nearby, Kilmarnock and other small towns offer more restaurants, shopping, chartered fishing boats, and the ferry to Tangier or Smith Island. Explore the history and nature of the Northern Neck by visiting museums, wineries, and wildlife refuges. Or, you can take another nap on that hammock.

Peaceful and relaxing getaway
Our family enjoyed our stay at this comfortable and well equipped waterfront home. Family meals, sunsets over the water and starry nights by the firepit.

Nice stay.
Slice of Heaven had all of the basics our group needed, but lacked a few things we would have liked. Pros: there are tons of activities in the area and at the house. The hosts do a good job of providing boats, games, nice sitting areas, etc. Not their fault, but you cannot get in the water in this area May-October due to the jelly fish. Our kids were disappointed about this, but still had fun fishing and crabbing. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Cons: there is only one full bathroom and it is a shower. This is tough for multiple families staying together. This was accurately reflected in the description, but we missed it! Also, the shower in this bathroom sprays into the bathroom floor so it's hard to get the shower started without creating a puddle on the floor. Easily fixed, but there are no bedside lamps and there was a bit of an ant issue while we were there even though we were very careful about cleaning up after ourselves. Again, overall a nice stay, but be sure to read through the description before booking!

Great Gateway
Place was perfect for my family. We enjoyed it very much. There is a very secluded beach about 15 minutes away which was a big bonus. Would recommend!

What a lovely place to stay!
A group of friends and I had such a great time getting together here. Lisa was a very responsive host and the place was full of pleasant surprises, like plenty of games to play and enough water crafts for all 8 of us to be out on the bay together.

After years of relocations in the Marine Corps, our family settled in Northern Virginia and discovered the wonders of the Northern Neck. We realized we wanted a getaway destination close enough for regular use so we could make the most of our remaining time with our two teenagers before they go off to college.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Reedville after visiting friends there for a 4th of July celebration. This charming community has so much to offer, from local history to nature-filled activities. We are so thankful to call this place our home and know you will also love it. This quiet neighborhood is the ideal place to get away from it all for family reunions and romantic getaways.

What makes this property unique

The photos of stunning waterfront views speak for themselves! These sunsets are priceless. The sloping beach and gradual water depth are great for kids and pets. What a treat to launch kayaks and a canoe from your own pier!
