About this property

Whiteside Cove Cabin

This simple cabin is perfect for someone looking for a quiet place to get away and relax.
It has three bedrooms, with queen beds in two of the bedrooms and two twins in the third bedroom. The newly re-carpeted living room has a wood burning fireplace, a large comfy couch, and a spectacular view of Whiteside Mountain.
The large front porch is also perfect for sitting and looking at the mountain, and the spacious front yard is a great place for kids to play. The whole property is surrounded by woods, so it is quiet and secluded.
The kitchen is fully furnished and sheets and towels are provided.
This is a simple, comfortable cabin that our family has owned for years. We love it dearly and know that you will too.

Quaint Getaway
The listing is accurate, the cabin is clean, & the hosts were very responsive. My review is mostly of things I wish I knew before booking. The road to get from Highlands to the cabin is very windy & narrow, similar to most mountain roads in the area. The actual driveway is bumpy & gravel, but manageable. We thought we could go back & forth from the house to town & hikes, but it was a bit of a hassle. It would be a great cabin if you have no plans of leaving! Not a huge issue, but I wouldn't count on the Wi-Fi. It did not work at all during our stay, but we were able to find places in town to get some work done. My only real negative was the cabin smelled like moth balls. The owner confirmed it was from snake away, but there wasn't anything they could do about it. Just something to be aware of if you're sensitive to smells.

Wonderful cabin in the mountains
We had a wonderful 5 day trip to Highlands, NC. in the Fall. The location of the cabin was perfect and had incredible mountain views. The cabin was delightfully rustic and very clean. The owner supplied us with everything we needed. We couldn’t have had a more perfect vacation.

Wonderful escape
The property was private, comfortable and affords the most lovely view of Whiteside mountain. We had hoped to visit at or near peak leaf color and our timing worked out perfectly. We enjoyed ( and needed) the Franklin Stove as we had a couple of really chilly mornings and evenings. The cabin is simple , as shown in the pictures. Everything works and is comfortable. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely oasis. It was just what we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
