A Covid Getaway
We enjoyed our stay. Loved sitting on the deck by the water. The house was nice and well located for getting around the area. It was a little outdated but was fine for our purpose. The biggest issue was the water from the faucets; it smells. We brought our drinking water with us. The septic system doesn't handle frequent flushes. I felt I was back in Cozamel.

Love the view
We loved the view and could have stayed out there all day. The house itself is a nice setup. It does need some TLC and a really good cleaning. Our biggest issue was the water smell. I know this is something difficult to deal with. But, when I washed my hair, it smelled like that same sulfur smell. Even with these little issues, I would happily stay here again.

Sister Getaway
My four sisters and I loved the location and especially the privacy. It’s a wonderful house with a great view of the water. The kitchen is well equipped and there was plenty of room for all of us. Also, sitting down by the water and watching the sunsets was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. We would definitely come back but earlier in the fall or late summer.

Beautiful and comfortable
We really enjoyed our visit to Grey Gull. The house is well equipped, beds were comfortable, the view was fabulous and we had everything we needed for a comfortable worry free stay. I appreciated the abundance of cleaners and sanitizers that were readily available as well as the fact that when we arrived the house was open and fans were running everywhere giving it a good airing out. The one drawback for us was the situation with the water. It has a high iron content and really is unpleasant to drink or make coffee with so we had to buy quite a bit of water during our stay. A good iron filter could take care of that. The other problem is that you are asked not Flush every time you use the toilet because there is a holding tank. While this may not be an issue for some, for me I personally don’t like that outhouse feel I get when I see an unflushed toilet. And during hot weather it smells. We did our best to comply with the owners wishes, and I understand there is nothing to be done to change that situation, but that would give me pause next time. The house is older and it was very sweet to see photos of the original owners hung in the upstairs hallway. The outside is in need of some paint and minor repairs but that comes with older properties. The closeness to the lake is great! The water and dock are perfect and there was an abundance of firewood for the fire pit that we really appreciated. For those who don’t mind the water/toilet situation, it is a great place to stay.

Property needed basic maintenance and repairs
Property needed basic maintenance and repairs. Screens on screen porch were loose, paint peeling, weeds throughout property. Furnishings old. Kitchen did have updated appliances and was well stocked with dishes.
