About this property

The Heart Of The Wine Country! Sip wine, take a dip, relax and enjoy

Dalton Lakeside Cottage is the perfect place for a peaceful getaway with family, friends and good neighbors. Located on a quiet private road, you will pass through a narrow but short underpass that is not an issue for a full size pickup or SUV. The cottage features 3 bedrooms, 1 bath with a kitchen and living room. We prefer you to use the screened windows to keep cool, but there is an option for A/C if needed $8.00 day, (please leave on counter if used). We have an Apple TV that allows guests to sign into their streaming services, an outside antenna that has about 23 clear channels with some HD channels and a DVD player with moves provided (Please return after use for other guests). High speed internet is also available provided by Spectrum. You will be spending most of your days outside grilling on the covered Front deck while your kids playing in the secured back yard or enjoying your time relaxing on Dalton Landing watching the sunrise and sunset as you enjoy your morning coffee or your evening glass of wine, at night relax by the outdoor fire-pit. There is a charming and historic train that runs by the house. The train has no set schedule but does go slow and the conductor will even blow the whistle for you if you wave to them. There is also a long dock for your convenience, whether you choose to fish from the dock, rent a boat at Roy's Marina or bring your own boat. The cottage is a short drive from a local farmers market called "The Windmill" and about 30 min drive from the waterloo shopping outlets. This is a wonderful cottage that is perfect for that quiet weekend we all need with family and friends. If this sounds like the place for you, please submit your booking request to lock in your dates. Ask about boat docking and trailer storage. We do not supply a washer & dryer but list of laundromats will be available at the cottage. There are also 2 security camera located on each corner of the front of the house, these are used for security purposes only, there are no other cameras in any guest areas of the cottage.

Calm(ed) and Relax(ed)-In spite of ourSelves!
July 2021… From the moment we arrived at the ranch-style house and saw how well kept both the back and front were, we felt so good and when we opened the front door and entered the very large living/dining/kitchen great room, we saw how spotlessly clean it was, we then knew that we were going to enjoy our stay here. We wanted for nothing as the house is equipped with two TV’s, one huge one in the main family room and another in the middle bedroom. The main one is connected to the Dish on the roof. Don’t need tools kitchen nor BBQ/grill utensils as all are there as well as a good stock of dishes and mugs/silverware. All you need is food and beverages to bring! The large fridge/freezer was spotless so we could fill it with the food/beverages we brought with us. As the house water is on a well we decided to load up on our own bottled water. As the house frontage faces east, it was great to get up very early am and capture the different sky experiences of the Sun and colours shooting across the lake. When you sit in the dining area of the Great room looking out through the huge glass window or on the outside deck the views are forever changing. Our Host Gary is a very fine person who was in contact before we left home and was available on the phone and happened to stop by also to see how we were doing. All in all, this house is very comfortable with three bedrooms, all with full-size beds, closets in two and drawers in all three. The one bathroom is ample size with shower/basin and toilet. No need to bring extra linens or towels as there are doubles of all in the drawers. Our labradoodle dog was so much at home being able to run around and explore the fenced-in yard; especially after discovering the doggy door. We had a happy family reunion for several days there and would love to return sometime.

Girls Weekend Away
Had a great time on our girls weekend away for my birthday. Don’t let the drive down the driveway to the property scare you. I drive a truck and fit without an issue. Relaxing lake views. There is many stairs to get down to the lake for anyone with disabilities. That did not stop us from walking down and enjoying a drink on the dock. There is sulfur water just an FYI for people who may just not be use to it. Otherwise all three of us had a great time. Prime location for wine tours around Seneca lake. The host was great and called a few days before to just check in before our stay. Recommend this great little getaway for anyone who is looking for a weekend away.

Great get away
What a lovely cottage and an incredible view over the water right in the heart of wine country. The house is very cleanly and spacious. The yard is fenced and our dog quickly learned how to use the doggie door to go outside and come back in when she wanted. We will definitely be requesting to stay here again!

Perfect lake cottage
5 of us comfortably stayed, we had a great time and a beautiful view of the lake. It felt very homey and relaxing. The only minor issue was that the water smelled very potent of eggs, but we powered through. We would all book again in the future and would love to check the place out in the summer time! Thanks Gary for a smooth stay.

Won’t Return
Pros--Very dog friendly, clean, wonderful views, great location. Host flexible on early checkin. Cons - neighbor in double wide directly next door burning leaves and trash which made being outside that day unpleasant, train as advertised in listing but it came by at 7:30 in the morning and woke us up on 2 of our 3 day stay. Had an issue w hot water smelling like sulfur (rotten eggs). Host responsive in offering to get it addressed but he’s not in the area so it would have been inconvenient to our vacation plans for us to wait for repair. Strong smell made it very unpleasant to shower and wash dishes. Would not want to go down dirt road or through tunnel to trailer in bad weather.
