Bayou Guest House is located in Mid-City on the historic Bayou St. John. This private second floor residence overlooks the Boogaloo festival in May and is a walk or short bike ride to City Park, Jazz Fest, Endymion, restaurants, cafes, bars, and the streetcar line. In the building awarded the “Golden Hammer” award by the Mayor of New Orleans for its beautiful West Indies architectural design, Bayou Guest House offers a fresh, elegant atmosphere to visitors seeking gratifying accommodations.

This is a historically fascinating neighborhood on the Bayou St. John. Originally named Bayouk Choupic by the Native Americans settled here, nearly everything from voodoo ceremonies to coffee importing have taken place over the last 300 years. These days, the neighborhood is mixed with both businesses & homes, and everyone gets along well (and their dogs too).

Demographics include young professionals, generations-long NOLA families, weekend-visiting homeowners, earthy folks who appreciate green-living, & retirees.

The surrounding neighborhood around Bayou Guest House is active during the day, especially with the popular po'boy restaurant across the street, kayakers on the bayou, dog walking, and the young "Lafitte Corridor," a bike & jog pathway that connects us to the French Quarter!

In the evening, the area is nice & quiet.
