Modern and comfortable stay with everything you need to enjoy Memphis. This is a wonderful location and a quiet retreat after enjoying the City's offerings. This is a newly renovated building with all new amenities, furnishings, appliances, with a fully outfitted kitchen. Wifi, Cable, NetFlix, Bose music and a selection of movies, books for you to enjoy. Two bedrooms, one king and one queen with comfortable Tempurpedic mattress. Two in suite bathrooms with glass walk in shower in master bath. The kitchen is fully outfitted for meal preparation. Memphis is such a great city and you will love your visit here and this is the perfect property to see and do it all.
The owners of this property wanted to be a part of the ongoing rejuvenation of Downtown Memphis, and purchased this property in 2007. It had been vacant for decades, but was located at what some would consider the best location in Downtown Memphis (Main and Union). The restoration has taken 8 years (thus far!).
59 So. Main 202 has key code access off of the Main Streel, and coded elevator access to it's location on the third floor of the building. Unique about this property is the ability to be in the center of everything, and still have a very private, peaceful getaway.
5 star rental...
Our family stayed three nights while in Memphis for a sports tournament. There are some things everyone should know before renting this unit so I thought I would share:
PROS:
GREAT property manager. Lou Ann is wonderful, helpful and on the ball with everything.
Parking is provided in deck close by.
Safe and secure building.
Extremely convenient location for downtown.
Comfortable beds. Very clean and nicely furnished.
CONS:
Only 1 TV in this unit. Neither of the bedrooms have TVs, which can be hard, especially if traveling with children. The open "loft" bedroom has a TV but it's only for watching DVDs.
We didn't expect the noise. Hardwood floors are very noisy and with the extremely high ceilings, everything echoes. This is a challenge for the one bedroom that doesn't have floor-to-ceiling walls and is opposite the kitchen and next to living area. Hard for anyone to sleep in that bedroom if someone is in the kitchen or living room. Renters should also note that if anyone is occupying the floor above, be prepared to hear their every footstep. Additionally, the bedroom by the entrance is also close to the stairwell. When we were there, many used the stairs so we constantly heard the door opening and closing. WiFi was unreliable our entire stay. The property manager tried her best to help and was very attentive and did all she could. Still, it was something we needed and expected so this was a bit frustrating.
Big and spacious, up to date and clean. Lou Ann was very kind and helpful.
The apartment was really nice. As others have noted, one bedroom is more of a loft (it is at the top of the stairs behind the pony wall shown in the main picture) so there isn't very much privacy especially if someone wants to stay up to watch television. The other bedroom is private which is the one my husband and I opted for even though the bed is smaller! As long as you go in knowing that, there won't be any surprises.
Everything was clean. (The oven is so clean, it doesn't even look like it's been used before). The showers were great. The beds were comfortable.
A nitpicky complaint:
As a family who drinks a lot of tea and coffee, it would have been nice to have more mugs. There were only three mugs but there were four of us. Luckily I had purchased a mug as a souvenir at our previous stop, so I used that while we were there.
This place is cool. Nice accoutrements and entertainment system. Everything you need and within walking distance of many great restaurants and close to public transport. No car needed here. Great kitchen for cooking. Walk down to Beale Street for some great blues. Will be back if I'm in Memphis again
The condo was very nice, but it was topped off by the great service and communication by the owners.
This great location is steps away from The Peabody, The Rendezvous, FedEx Forum, Beale Street, and The Orpheum Theater, great restaurants , live entertainment, and the best music Memphis has to offer and very close to other major entertainment such as Cannon Center, Bass Pro Shop, Memphis Zoo, Levitt Shell, Overton Square, and Overton Park.
