About the property

This lovely condo s a one bedroom garden view that is nestle below the other builings so it is more private. It is a corrner unit with a screened in lanai on two sides. Very spacioius inside. There is a full kitchen with all your amenities you need for your vacation. Also it has a large washer and dryer inside the unit. It is nicely furnished and has a separate bedroom with a queen size bed. Recently remodeled kitchen with new caiinets and paint through out. Lanai has a sleeper sofa for additional sleeping. It is a short walk down the steps to the unit and has access to internet, pool and BBQ.

Paniolo Hale is located on Molokai's West end and on the ocean. There is Kepuhi Beach right in front and it is great for surfing in the winter months and perfect for swimming/snorkeling in the summer months. Just a short walk over the old golf course is the Papohaku Beach to the longest white sand beach in the state of Hawaii. Very rough in the winter months and cannot swim, but awesome to watch the waves break in and in the summer months great for long ocean swims and shell finding. A short walk to the left brings you to Make Horse with lots of little tide pools for taking a cold tub or letting the little ones catch the little fish. Nice beach hike can be done from Paniolo Hale to the point.

West side is about 5 minutes to Maunaloa town where there is a small market open daily to 5PM. 15 minutes is to the airport. 20 minutes take a Cook House with indoor and outdoor seating, the coffee Plantation, Coffees of Hawaii which has a coffee bar and Wi-Fi and a gift shop, along with some other shops.

Kaunakakai Town is about 30 minutes and that is where most of the groceries, art shops, gift stores, mini markets, restaurants, equipment rentals and our county offices. The east end of Molokai with other great little beaches, a playground for the little ones and a small market with takeout foods is a good hour drive. There are many things to see and do on Molokai but most are all outdoors. If you like to paddle rent a kayak or Stand up board and paddle over our barrier reef. Molokai is about entertaining yourselves, although Hotel Molokai on a Friday Night is entertaining itself! Come see, Come stay!

Lovely corner condo, very peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully remodeled kitchen, nice new owners who are in the process of upgrading the condo. We enjoyed sleeping on the 1st floor, which is cooler than an upstairs bedroom. No beach view, but nice view of kiawe forest, and papaya tree out front, which attracted birds, so nice bird-viewing! A 5-minute walk to the beach and sunset. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Owner's Response: That's great to know you had a wonderful time. Some of Paniolo Hale do see the ocean and some do not. There are some that have a bedroom and bath upstairs and a bathroom down stairs and some with one bedroom and one bath on same floor.

A Quick Trip

  • 3 of 5

We only had 3 nights to stay at Paniolo Hale M1, unfortunately. We enjoyed the birds, deer, long walks on basically deserted beaches, having all the doors open and the lovely breezes. The unit was clean but is in need of some TLC. Everything is a bit run down, but still functional and comfortable. My understanding is that it is for sale and therefore some reluctance to upgrade anything- desperately needs new fry pans, some basic utensils for cooking and a dryer repair (we did a load of towels that were still wet after 3 runs through the extra dry cycle). Be aware that it has a double bed if you need more sleeping personal space! All that being said, it is hard to beat the location and if you are not looking for excellence/perfection is a good place to stay.

Owner's Response: We ordered new frying pans for the unit and we sent the appliance person to check on the dryer. If we know there are needs we do handle them. The unit is being sold and we hope the next person does do some minor upgrades. It's a lovely spot and on the end so it has decks on two sides instead of one.

Will want to return year after year to unit. Only complaint I have is that the mattress probably needs to be replaced. Maybe I'm just used to my posterpedic
