Photos and Description of the Algonquin Highlands vacation cottage rental

4 Bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom, very spacious cottage located on Maple Lake!

A spacious yet cozy 2-story cottage ideal for multiple family vacationing. Nestled on Maple Lake in Haliburton Highlands, this is a four season cottage rental. Maple Haven Cottage is situated just 20 minutes away from both downtown Haliburton and downtown Minden with convenient road access.

Maple Lake is a 3 chain lake connecting to Grass and Pine Lake offering miles of superb northern scenery, boating and fishing.

This spacious 4 bedroom cottage is very comfortably finished and furnished. The sizable living/kitchen and dining area offer plenty of room with rustic beamed ceilings and lots of natural light. The large front facing windows downstairs and upstairs offer beautiful lake views . The rustic handcrafted bar made from local Haliburton lumber is a bonus pub-like addition for all visitors.

Maple Haven Cottage has 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 10 people. The main floor bedroom has a king size bed with full 3 piece bathroom conveniently located adjacent. The larger of the two upstairs bedrooms has a queen bed, a trundle bed and a bunk bed. Perfect for kids to share. The third bedroom has a queen bed. There is a queen bed in the fourth bedroom as well. There is also a pull out couch located in the living room on the main floor. Plenty of room for everyone!

In addition to the roomy interior the cottage has a large walk-out deck with beautiful views of the property and the lake. Across the cottage road is your own private deck and dock for direct access to sunbath, swim or read a book as you look out onto the stunning views of Maple Lake. The lake is shallow around the dock area making it perfect for kids.

Situated on 1.5 acres the property has tons of recreational activities; Horseshoes, badminton/volleyball and a fire pit for the perfect night of roasting marshmallows, telling stories or letting the family musician shine! The storage shed houses a canoe, 2 kayaks and a stand-up paddle board as well as floating devices for visitors use.

AVAILABLE IN THE WINTER AS WELL

The property is fully winterized and available year-round. Offering a lodge-like atmosphere it is the perfect choice for winter-activity enthusiasts as it sits on direct access to snowmobiling trails and is a short 20 minute drive to Sir Sams Ski Resort.

There is SO much to see and do in the Haliburton Highlands. Enjoy a stroll along Main street and pop into the charming boutiques that downtown Haliburton is famous for. Or for the more adventurous go for a "Walk in the Clouds" or visit the Wolf Centre located at Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve. In the winter go for a snowmobile ride on their groomed and man-made snow replenished trails. (www.haliburtonforest.com)

Minden is also locatated only 20 minutes from the cottage. Like Haliburton, Minden is a quaint charming town, located along the Gull River, with plenty of boutiques and shops to explore. Be sure to check out the Artisan Market opened every Saturday in the summer. Minden is also host to the white water Canoe/Kayak Slalom event during the TORONTO PAN AM Games Summer 2015. (http://mindenhills.ca/panam/)

Another adorable town to visit during your stay is Dorset. Home to Robinson's General Store, voted Canada's Best Country Store. It is about a 30 minute drive to Dorset. You MUST stop in and get a frozen yogurt treat across the street at Northern D'Lites as well! Check out the Dorset lookout tower which is 142 m (465 ft) above Lake of Bays. If you make to the top the view is breathtaking!

For the fisherman out there, Maple Lake is known to be one of the best fishing lakes in Haliburton Highlands!

Winter in Haliburton is just as exciting. Sir Sams Ski and Mountain Bike Resort is only 20 minutes away offering family fun for all. (http://sirsams.com/) The cottage is directly on the Haliburton County Snowmobile Trails. (http://www.hcsa.ca)

There is so much to do and see in the area, or if you're like me you can just head down to the dock with a good book and a glass of wine and enjoy the peaceful views of Maple Lake!
