Two Island-style Bungalows In The Yachting Capital Of The Caribbean

Banana Tree Bungalows is a wonderful choice for independent, self reliant travelers, who wish to enjoy a non-hotel/non-resort type setting.

The two traditional, island style cottages are both 1600 sq ft. with large, 12 ft wrap around verandas, which offer guests a versatile entertainment space, or the chance to simply unwind and experience the cooling effects of Antigua’s renowned trade winds.

Each cottage can comfortably sleep four (in one queen bed and two single beds) with air-conditioning as well as fans in all rooms. Each kitchen is fully equipped with coffee makers, a Nespresso machine (please bring your own pods), a microwave, propane gas stove and oven and utensils for casual dining. Mosquito screens protect you from being bitten.

The living rooms and master bedrooms each have 32in. LCD flat screen TV’s with cable television, and the living room features an iPod docking station and a Blu Ray dvd player. There is also wireless Internet in both cottages. The property is monitored remotely by a security firm and has a home security system. Each cottage also contains a personal safe.

As your hosts, we get a genuine enjoyment out of meeting our guests, therefore we do many of the initial Meet & Greets on arrival day during the months we are on island. We are also only an email away, should guests wish to connect with us.

Banana Tree Bungalows is ideally located on the south western tip of Antigua at Falmouth Harbour in the Parish of St. Paul’s. Guests at Banana Tree Bungalows can expect a peaceful environment to relax in. We are located in a residential village in the countryside, which is only a ten minute drive to one of Antigua's most beautiful beaches, as well as only five minutes away from some of its best restaurants and hotspots.

Banana Tree Bungalows is conveniently located near a public bus route. Bus #17 will get you to both harbours as well as Nelson's Dockyard.I n addition, car rental companies are just a few minutes away, and we will gladly recommend a rental car company for you on your request. Your car can be delivered to you at the airport on your arrival or at your cottage ( should you choose our recommended rental company). Parking is conveniently at your doorstep. Whether you choose to rent a car or take a taxi from the airport, we will email you directions to your cottage before your arrival date.

Guests staying at Banana Tree Bungalows can be as active as they wish, as there is much to do within close proximity to the property.

Engage yourself in many of the nearby water sports and activities on offer including snorkeling, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing and sailing. Come and enjoy these wonders with Dockyard Divers, who are keen to share their knowledge and experience with you.

Bush walkers and hikers are spoilt for choice as many of Antigua’s best nature trails are close by and running enthusiasts will love the challenge of taking on the island’s hilly terrain.

Great for adventurists is the Antigua Rainforest Canopy Tours, a unique zip line tour through Antigua’s verdant rainforest region, or any of the exhilarating tours and sea excursions organised by Adventure Antigua.

The Spring Hill Riding Club offers many different rides and the stables are close to many beaches which gives riders the chance to swim with their horses in the beautiful Caribbean waters.

Play a round at Cedar Valley Golf Club an 18-hole championship course that caters to all skill levels, conducts lessons and has club rentals and equipment available or enjoy a set of tennis at Temo Sports.

We encourage our guests to visit Antigua's Donkey Sanctuary, a shelter by the Humane Society, for over 150 donkeys. Visitors are allowed to pet, groom and even 'adopt' their own local donkey. They also provide a unique opportunity to observe our local fauna. Interacting with these gentle creatures will forever remain an extraordinary experience in your island adventures.

Guests can of course simply sit back relax and enjoy sun, sand and sea. The Catamaran Club Beach is just a five-minute walk from Banana Tree Bungalows and the excellent Pigeon Point and Galleon Beaches are a short drive away. Falmouth Harbour, a major international yachting hub plays host to some of the world’s finest super yachts during the winter months and stages many world class events including the Antigua Charter Yacht Show, Antigua Sailing Week, and the Antigua Classic Regatta.

The area is popular amongst tourists, yachtsmen and locals alike and is well serviced by supermarkets, shops, boutiques and tourist operators. There is a great selection of restaurants, cafes and bars and a number of nightclubs and live music venues including the breathtaking Shirley Heights Lookout with its unforgettable Sunday steel band and sunset parties.

The nearby English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard, located in Antigua's National Park, are some of the most picturesque parts of Antigua and showcase the maritime history of the island as well as Antigua’s unique natural beauty. Step back in time as you walk amongst the restored original 17th Century buildings at Nelson’s Dockyard, the former home of Lord Horatio Nelson and the Royal British Navy.

A relaxing spot with gorgeous views!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved our recent stay here. The place is really cute and comfy. The verandah was our favorite spot to hang out, especially the hammock! Tracey was a great host -was easy to get in touch with, quick to reply, and very welcoming.

Ideal place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Loved staying here. Great views over the harbour and the bungalow was spacious and well equipped. You need a rental car to get around and explore the island and it's many beaches. The beach towels and mats provided were much appreciated. It was quiet season when we were here so lots of places were closed or on reduced opening. Nelson 's dockyard was worth visiting and the Copper & Lumber store Hotel was a nice place to eat. Thoroughly recommend the bungalow as a place to stay and explore Antigua.

Owner's Response: It's always so wonderful when guests take a moment to let us know what they liked about Antigua and about staying with us. Thank you so much for your feedback. Our side of the island is, indeed, quiet during the summer months, but we are just a short drive from the fun activities of the carnival season during that time. Our area buzzes with the activity of the stunning yachts, many restaurants and activities during the winter months. We are lucky to have the best of both worlds. Thank you and we hope to host you again in the future

As return visitors we love Banana Tree Bungalows and just can't stay away! The views across the harbour when sitting or enjoying a meal on the verandah are truly wonderful. The location is ideal- restaurants, a couple of small beaches and a shop are all near to hand. Historic Nelson's Dockyard and English harbour are a short drive, bus or taxi ride away. We cannot recommend the bungalows highly enough.

Banana Tree is a very tastefully appointed and romantic bungalow with gorgeous views

  • 5 of 5

Tracey is hands down the best host we've ever had. We were greeted warmly to an impeccably clean, tastefully appointed bungalow with sweeping views of Falmouth Harbour and the beautiful array of yachts and sailboats. It's perfect for a couple or a small family. The veranda is ample with casual seating and separate dining, as well as, a hammock. The yard is large, well maintained and gently shared with the 2nd bungalow, making it an excellent option for two families traveling together. The kitchen has absolutely everything and the grocery store is at the bottom of the hill. There are a few nice places to eat just across the street on the water. I can't imagine staying there without a rental car even though it's pretty centrally located. Plus, Antigua is meant to be explored. You could find a new bay and beaches every day. This was my 14th trip to Antigua and this is my favorite place to stay so far. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing Tracey again.

Simply the best

  • 5 of 5

Our eagerly awaited return visit to this delightful bungalow certainly lived up to expectation. The beautiful views across the harbour from the veranda, with its comfortable sitting and eating areas, will live long in the memory. The stylish bungalow has everything you need for a very comfortable stay, with a well equipped kitchen and unexpected extras such as beach mats, a good torch (invaluable for finding your way up the track at night) and an umbrella. The friendly, attentative owners could not be more welcoming or helpful. The thoughtful welcome pack has everything to make a meal and get you through the first night and beyond, while the beers and wine on ice were very much appreciated.

The location is excellent too, within easy walking distance of Bailey's supermarket, restaurants, the marina and small beaches in front of Catamaran Hotel and Papas restaurant. SweetT's, ice cream parlour and snackette, also offers reasonably priced Caribbean and 'fast food' . Papas opened very recently and does brunches, lunches, including Sundays, and is open for evening meals twice a week. Food is good but rather expensive. These restaurants all have live music. The Captain's Quarters, next to Catamaran Hotel, is right on the water with decent, reasonably priced food and Cambusa, on the marina, offers more expensive Italian food.

English harbour and historic Nelson's Dockyard, with the huge choice of restaurants and good beaches at Galleon and Pigeon, are a short bus or taxi ride away. Although a car isn't really necessary, it does enable you to explore the whole island, including the many stunning beaches, off the beaten track.

We cannot recommend these bungalows more highly, or thank Tracey and Owen enough for yet another fantastic holiday!
