1 Bedroom Garden Suite in funky Kitsilano neighbourhood on a quiet street

Bedrooms 1
Space 30 m²
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Light and airy garden suite with private entrance and close to everything

Please note VRBO is a US site and they display rates in USD which can be misleading.

Our regular rate is CAD$95 a night, summer rate is CAD$110 a night, and there is a one time cleaning fee of $60. Their Canadian site, Homeaway ca, displays the rates in Canadian dollars.

Our 1 bedroom Garden suite in Kitsilano is very central for anything you want to see and do in Vancouver. The Living Room has a large window and French doors so there is lots of light and it has a nice airy feeling.

There is a kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, and sink. The bedroom has a Queen size bed, quality linens and a walk in closet. There is a full bathroom off the bedroom with a great shower and a full size tub for a nice soak after a long day of enjoying everything Vancouver has to offer.

The suite has a private entrance and the owners live upstairs so are readily available to answer any questions about the local sights or to deal with anything you need. There is good internet service and a laptop for your use but no television.

We are very close to several bike route and public transportation

About Lesley Petts

I came to Vancouver in the 1970's on my way around the world, fell in love with the city and never left. The first day I arrived here was glorious sunshine then it rained for 30 days but gradually the sun came out again and I could see those glorious mountains. I also got a job with Canadian Airlines which was a great company full of like minded people who liked to travel.

I still love Vancouver, especially Kitsilano with it's vibrancy, diversity, great restaurants, bike routes and close to everything Vancouver has to offer.

Lesley Petts purchased this apartment in 2006

Why Lesley Petts chose West Side

I've lived in Vancouver since the 1970's and usually close to Kitsilano but have always loved Kitsilano and moved there in 2006. I also like to renovate and this 1920's house definitely needed some TLC but the location was good and it was very liveable. We patched her up and enjoyed living there while we made plans for a major renovation. In 2013 we embarked on a 1 year renovation to turn it into a Kitsilano gem. Everything is new but as one of my neighbours said it looks about 100 years old, in a good way. We kept the Kitsilano charm but with all the modern conveniences. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun and I am very much enjoying living in my "new" house.

What makes this apartment unique

Kitsilano is close to everything you want to do in Vancouver but the street we live on is quiet and neighbourly. The house is a few steps away from a bike route that will take you on a nice ride West to Jericho beach, Jericho sailing club, Spanish Banks and UBC or east to Kitsilano Beach, Granville Island, Science world, English Bay and Stanley Park. It's also a 5 minute walk away from great bus routes that will take you to UBC or downtown in less than 20 minutes.

In the summer there is the farm market every Saturday where you can pick up fresh produce, have lunch at one of the food trucks and meet the locals. There are also several fresh produce shops on Broadway as well as men's and women's clothing shops, the Travel Bug, Kidsbooks, Ace Cycle and many more.

Vancouver has an extensive assortment of restaurants with food from many different countries. It is a good foodie city. There are also many festivals to enjoy such as the Jazz Festival with many free outdoor venues, the film festival, Childrens festival, Folk music festival, Fringe festival, Dragon boating and many more. In the summer we also have Bard on the Beach with it's big tents behind the Planetarium overlooking the water, the British Car show in Van Dusen Gardens, the Vancouver Marathon....

Lovely & quiet spot

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd visit and it was good to be in familiar surroundings, in a very quiet neighbourhood close to shops & restaurants.

As usual the place was spotless..well appointed and suited us to a T since it was walking distance to our daughter’s apartment.

Lesley was very gracious and helpful...we would recommend her suite to family & friends visiting Vancouver.

Quiet and Cosy.

  • 5 of 5

Appreciated the location and the quiet neighbourhood - perfect for my stay which required me to be at UBC during the days. One bus away from campus and when I returned each night, I could easily access restaurants and/or markets to eat in. The suite was super clean and well appointed. I appreciated the laptop provided and the Netflix to pass the rainy evenings. The complimentary milk and cookies were a nice touch too. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

A Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at Lesley's suite multiple times but it still feels brand new. Her suite is spotless and all her extra added touches make this my favorite place to stay when visiting family in Vancouver. If you want to feel like a Vancouverite, stay here. The location is great for walking, transitting, eating and exploring the city. Lesley is a lovely person and it is obvious she enjoys hosting people in her suite.
