The longer story- k'was lake house:
Built over many years by artist and woodworker pierre detrey, the house is a unique window into the island’s eclectic style. The incredible architectural details provide a unique example of northwest coast craftsman style as it was emerging in the late 1970s. The attention to detail and artistry in every corner of the house is amazing to the observant and inspiring to the artistic. The house possesses a soul that dances with both its inhabitants and the surrounding landscape.
Kwas' lake house is about combining the benefits of simplicity with the comforts and conveniences you don't want to leave behind. The house is 1800 sq. Ft. And can sleep up to 8 people in 4 private bedrooms and optional tent with mattress on the floating deck. It features a very well stocked chef's kitchen with stainless appliances and a wolf propane range. And, just in case that rare rainy day should come in summer, fear not! We have a library of books, games, and art supplies, as well as some old school/ new school media options- (think vhs, mix-tapes, wi-fi, and a piano).
PLEASE NOTE: Our space is not necessarily ideal for families with very young children (under 4 yrs.) or those traveling with alter-abled people or the elderly. The beach access is a bit rocky and the trails around the house are very steep. The house is currently not wheelchair accessible or ADA Friendly.
