Comfortable old townhouse in the centre of Middleham
The house was a great base for exploring Wensleydale. Overall, it was clean and comfortable with a good kitchen. The property has a vertical layout over three floors, which might not suit everyone, but we managed even with small kids. The electric shower is good (helpful if you’re planning an active holiday!) but the fixed splash guard meant that bathing small children in the bath was a little trickier than necessary. There’s plenty of free parking in Middleham, but also plenty of people who want to use it, and on a couple of occasions the spaces outside the property (one of which is supposedly dedicated for its use) were occupied, forcing us to find a space on the main square. As they warn you in the advert, you do get a bit of noise from the stables and road, but this wasn’t to a problematic level.
