Fantastic location, exactly as described, super-comfy bed
When I decided to visit Salida for an extended period of time this fall, I was delighted to find the Salida Suite Spot. It's rare to find such a reasonably priced, comfortable abode in an amazing location, convenient to everything. I loved walking to the Farmer's Markets on Saturday mornings, strolling downtown or around town, and being only moments from everything. Jason was a very responsive host any time I had a question, answering within a few minutes. I found the unit to be exactly as described. The bed is amazingly comfortable; we didn't try out the sofa sleeper. The bedroom is in the middle of the unit, so you're buffered from most street noise. If you are a cook (and I am), the kitchen can be challenging counter-space wise, but we made it work. If planning to entertain, I'd recommend expanding the space by using the gas grill and back yard patio furniture if the weather permits. The washer and dryer work great and were most appreciated as I did lots of hiking on dusty trails. You share a fenced back yard, and it was so nice to have a place to let the dogs out to play; the neighbors and their dog were very friendly and fun to visit with, or they'll leave you to yourself if you prefer. If you're looking to spend 30+ days in a convenient location that won't break the bank, you should check out Salida Suite Spot.

A comfortable and convenient place to stay
This is a wonderful apartment in a truly magical town. There’s nothing fancy about this place, but it is comfortable and well-equipped, an easy walk to town and the trails beyond. Jason is a great host, with very good communication and really easy to work with. Highly recommended for a longer-term stay in Salida.

Perfect location, extremely clean and homely!
This property is in a fantastic location, so close to town and Salidas outdoor activities! Jason was extremely helpful and approachable. If you can stay at this property do it! The perfect home for a long or short term rental 😁

Cozy, fun rental
We rented for the entire winter. The location is fabulous - walking distance to town, easy drive to skiing. The house was small but big enough for our needs. Everything was clean, worked, and met our expectations. Access to the fenced backyard was one of the keys to keeping our dogs happy. The house has a strange layout requiring travel through the bedroom to get to the kitchen, but for couples or small families, it shouldn't be a problem. We had a couple of glitches, but Jason was extremely responsive. All in all, we recommend this place for a weekend, week, or season. We hopefully will be renting again soon.

Why they chose this property

Close to downtown, this apartment has proven popular with visitors who stay for at least a month. Salida has many short-term rental properties but too few allow for longer visits. We are seeing this apartment fill a growing need for visitors and locals. We've hosted retired couples coming to ski Monarch for a couple months, students, authors, locals building a new home, new residents finding their perfect home and relatives of nearby locals.
