Barry and Judy Haselden grew up in Florida and lived in Orlando and Winter Park throughout the 80s and 90s. Barry's work has taken them first to downtown Chicago and then the suburbs of Detroit. As of October 2014, they are enjoying their new status as full-time Kingsmill residents.
Judy Haselden purchased this condo in 2008
We had been visiting Kingsmill a couple of times a year since friends moved here in 2000. We loved the golf, boating, and moderate temperatures. In 2008 we took the plunge and bought a home here, first to use as a vacation spot, and eventually to get to live here year round. We're loving our 'local' status here in beautiful Williamsburg!
The best choice for a fall trip to Colonial Williamsburg. Having three bedrooms and three bathrooms was a fantastic feature in that it gave our entire family a space of their own. The unit was clean and stocked with everything guests would need. This place was perfect and really brought my stress level way, way down.
We found the 2 condos very ordinary as they are hotel furnished with very little personal touch. The lighting is dark and the kitchen was minimally equipped. It was enough space for 5 adults and in a good location to historic Williamsburg.
Absolutely perfect for our family reunion with our 2 adult children and their families. 3 private bedrooms each with bath and a central living room and kitchen/dining area. Access to Kingsmill amenities available through the owners who were very gracious throughout our stay. We all hope to return!
The Condo was very comfortable, spacious and very clean. Everything was as described and promised. The resort was a lot of fun, kids had a great time.
We have been coming to Kingsmill for about 10 years now. The last couple years we have booked through this website because the savings are great and as long as you find a place that offers resort passes, you just can't beat the savings. The only difference I find is you don't get the daily housekeeping. I actually like that aspect. This property is nice, the owner was great and this property actually has it's own private pool for this section of condos. So, if you prefer not to pay extra for the resort passes, you'll still have a pool to use. However, the river pool is one of the reasons we still come back here. It's a great place for adults and kids. They bring your food and drinks right to your chair. You can float in the lazy river, go in the pool, play ping pong or there's a water slide my daughter goes down 1000 times. Besides that, this condo is nice and clean. It's plenty large enough for our family to have their own space for the week. It's very close to all the attractions. The only negative I have is the a/c unit for the middle section that serves the living room, kitchen and main bedroom runs all the time. BUT this is the case for EVERY single unit I've ever stayed in at Kingsmill. I think when they built the place originally they didn't design something right. Either the sizing of the equipment, duct system or the returns are not done correctly. However, that is not this owners fault and we were not hot once the condo cooled down. It just ran the entire time. The other bedrooms were fine. Overall, a fabulous place, very clean and I highly recommend.
Another great family stay at an excellent condo at the wonderful Kingsmill Resort. This was a return visit for our family because we liked the condo, the Kingsmill Resort, and Williamsburg. Judy was very responsive and accommodating in tailoring the reservations to our schedule and helping us access resort services during our stay. The condo is very clean, spacious, and nicely appointed with large flat screen TVs for each bedroom and the "family room". The bathrooms are nicely tiled and have soft, fluffy towels. We took full advantage of the resort amenities - eating too well, playing multiple rounds of golf on top flight courses, enjoying the lazy river pool, visiting the spa, and catching fish from the marina docks. We will return for future vacations.
Historic Colonial Williamsburg is the world’s largest living history museum—the restored 18th-century capital of Britain’s largest, wealthiest, and most populous outpost of empire in the New World. In Colonial Williamsburg’s 301-acre Historic Area stand hundreds of restored, reconstructed, and historically furnished buildings. Costumed interpreters tell the stories of the men and women of the 18th-century city—black, white, and native American, slave, indentured, and free—and the challenges they faced.
In addition, Busch Gardens - located minutes from Kingsmill on the James - is a theme park in every sense of the term … a place where fun comes naturally. The theme is classic Europe, the Parisian streets of France, the hamlets of Scotland and the Oktoberfest celebrations of Germany. In all, nine villages centered around six countries for you to explore. The park features one of the best collections of world-class roller coasters, and live entertainment for the entire family, kid-friendly rides for youngsters and breathtaking architecture and landscaping for everyone to enjoy. Busch Gardens Williamsburg has been voted the world’s most beautiful theme park for 24 years and counting.
Also a place for learning about nature, you can see and learn about Bald Eagles, Clydesdale horses and gray wolves. A great place for kids, packed with classic kids rides, Sesame Street® characters and places to explore.
Located in the Historic Triangle of Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown, and only an hour away from Virginia Beach, Kingsmill on the James has something for everyone.
