Why Albert Joerger chose Trumansburg

Longview is our family farm that has housed four generations of Joergers. My father and I renovated the farm to continue the tradition and to share the magical haven it is today. My girls and I have found it to be our most favorite place on Earth. Whether it's watching movies on the side of the barn, star gazing, walks on the trails, naps in the garden or camp fires on the land, we create precious moments with family and friends that we cherish for the rest of our lives.

What makes this estate unique

Homes on this country road are set so far apart that your privacy is assured. If you awake early enough, you might see deer, fox & other wildlife making their way home. Songbirds will keep you company while you sip your morning coffee. Long after your stay, you will find yourself coming back to Long View Farm as a pleasant memory.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I booked this house for a weekend getaway for a group of 20 friends. We had originally booked someplace else and found out 3 weeks before the weekend of the getaway we couldn't stay at our original location. Albert was easy to work with, very helpful and saved the day! Everything worked out perfect - the location and house. I am grateful the other place canceled - I don't think they could have provided such a wonderful experience. We loved the fact we could all sit and eat at a table - all 20 of us! I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone and I know we will return.

Wonderful winter retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Over Martin Luther King weekend 2018, eighteen long-time friends gathered at Longview Farms to share faith, fellowship, food, singing, games, and fun! The facilities are phenomenal, with a beautiful big gathering room, and a table where we could all sit together. The kitchen was clean and very well-stocked, with plenty of plates, glasses, utensils, as well as coffee pot, preparation pans, baking dishes, etc. There are two ovens, and two dishwashers, as well as a microwave! It was the perfect place for friends to gather and catch up! The bedrooms and linens were well-appointed, and bathrooms very clean. The guest house (aka "barn"), with three more bedrooms and baths, is also lovely, with yet another well-equipped kitchen! It snowed overnight, and a caretaker came to plow in the morning. We enjoyed singing around the piano, and many enjoyed playing pool in the billiard room. We would definitely return to Longview Farm!

Even better than we could have imagined!

  • 5 of 5

I'm not even sure where to start with what we loved about the Perfect Country was indeed perfect and then some! For example, the gorgeously warm holiday decorations that greeted us upon arrival made quite a first impression, set the tone for our entire stay, conveyed the owner's attention to every small detail, and showed his willingness to go above and beyond to make our stay (and our friend's 50th birthday!) purely magical! (The owner and his assistant were also fabulous at communication....they sent us detailed information in a timely manner and answered all of our questions within a few hours.) If I had a dollar for every time one of the people in our party (there were 13 of us) commented on how amazing the house was, raved about a special feature of the house, talked about how clean it was, or went on and on about how lucky we were to find this place, I probably would have made enough money to cover the cost of our entire stay! Besides LOVING the obvious things that caused us to rent the house in the first place (the 8 attached bathrooms, the table that could comfortably seat all 13 of us for group dinners and game-playing, the uniquely decorated bedrooms, the two modern kitchens, the two large great rooms, the wood-burning fireplace, the pool table, the proximity to the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, and the gorgeous setting), we also just loved the "feel" of the house. Through the unique and personal artwork created for birthday celebrations that had taken place at the house through the the baby furniture with the owner's children's names on the well-worn wood on the main house stair could instantly tell that this was a house that had always been filled with love, laughter, and good memories. So if you are looking for a perfect place to have a wedding, a ladies' getaway weekend, a family reunion, a 50th birthday celebration like us, etc., etc.....the Perfect Country Estate is the place for you! Many of the people in our party are already trying to figure out what other events we can book it for in the future. And, finally, the only thing that I can think of that we didn't like about this place was that we had to check-out! ha ha ha! Thank you, Albert and Kris, for helping to make our friend's 50th birthday celebration so unforgettablel! We hope to stay again sometime soon!

Beautiful property!! Very helpful property owner:)

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great stay at the Longview farm. Everyone in our group was awestruck at the picturesque landscape. The property was very well maintained and the owner Albert and assistant were readily available via phone to help out with any questions before/after or during our stay. We will definitely try to make our way back.

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week with many friends at this venue. In total we were 24. We used the whole space! The dining table is UNBELIEVABLE and seats 30 people. Gorgeous. Great kitchen with many spices, necessities provided. Comfy beds and each bedroom had a private bath. You don't often see that. Meticulously maintained property and gardens.

Centrally located to many unique destinations gives people the option of joining in or hanging back at the property if they want some quiet time. We visited Watkins Glen State Park and Taughannock Falls for some beautiful hikes. All levels of abilities here. Unbelievable settings. Cornell, Ithaca College, Ithaca Commons, THE ITHACA FARMERS MARKET! and Ithaca Brewery were huge hits. Don't miss the farmers' market or the brewery. Hit many wineries along Cayuga Lake. Could have done a few days of this but chose to go back to the brewery.

Having a guest house let people get away if they wanted some quiet time while everyone was at the main house. Big yard for outdoor games that we brought. Beautiful fire pit for late night gatherings. Porches to read on. Hot tub to soak in. Cool widow's peak for those who like heights. Explore the property along the creek.

We were met by a host and the security codes explained. Easy. Great comminication with the host.

Recommend for a wedding or group getaway. Very quiet and secluded but close to activities. Would go again!

Gorgeous property and the perfect fit for our outdoor wedding!

  • 5 of 5

We held an outdoor wedding with roughly 150 people here and the property really was the perfect fit. We had a large sail tent in the corner of the property and set up lawn games (corn hole, Kan Jam, bocce, etc...) in the remaining ample field space. Numerous guests were pleasantly surprised by the venue and kept commenting on how beautiful it was. The property was well maintained and the views in the summer were a perfect backdrop for our ceremony. The entire wedding party was able to stay on site and that made for a fun and unique wedding weekend experience. Albert, the property owner, and his property managers were easy to work with and were quite accommodating to reasonable requests. The rooms and facilities were all very nice. We ended up bringing a couple of air mattresses just to give some of the folks staying the option of choosing between fold-out couches or air mattresses as an additional bed in some of the bedrooms. The hot tub was great. The living room space was nice and bright and the extremely large table was able to comfortably accommodate most of our rehearsal dinner guests. If you are planning to use the property for a large event such as a wedding there are additional fees and coordination needed, so contact Albert early to ensure you are on the same page. Overall, we would highly recommend this property and would absolutly pick it again if we were to do it all over again.
