About this property

Il Granaio, Villa for 6 people with heated jacuzzi and pool in the garden

Il Granaio is located on a hill at 350 meters above sea level. This exquisite country stone household was constructed during the early 1600’s in a small village located upon the hills of San Venanzo. The house was used as a barn for processing wheat from the 1600’s to the mid 1900’s, hence the name. The lowest level of the building was used to preserve the food and wine for the main household, due to its cool temperature all year round. The detached country house encompasses a large living room with an old fire place, two double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen (with a fridge, oven and dishwasher). Outside in the garden there is a big swimming pool and spacious terrace area which includes the use of a BBQ, large garden space and exclusive use of the spa (available all year).
Close to Il Granaio, you can take a 10-minute walk to admire a lake called “Caesar’s Lake” (The owner of the Property During the 1800’s), where you can swim during the warmer months and admire the lush vegetation whilst circumnavigating the lake with the available raft rowing, during all seasons. There is also a clay shore where you can use this natural substance to remove the toxins from your skin.

A little chilly but very nice -
We really enjoyed our stay at Case Nucci. Riccardo is friendly, helpful and a great host. The location is perfect to visit Perugia, Assisi and other fabulous hill towns. The mattresses and bed linens were outstanding. Per government regulations (Ukraine war) there wasn’t any heat during our stay so the evenings were chilly. Making a fire was the only option, the wood was an extra charge every evening that that was unexpected. Kitchen essentials would have been appreciated. Overall score is 4.2. It would not take much to be a 5!

Proprietario gentilissimo e disponibile. Un paradiso.

About the host

Perched on top of a hill, between Perugia and Todi, in the heart of Umbria, there’s a location called “Civitella Dei Conti”. A small village where the Nucci family has been living and farming the surrounding land since the early 1600’s.
The main property is the family residence – “Palazzo Nucci” – which is situated in an elevated position from which it overlooks the Valley of the Tevere.
This complex was also known as Castle of Santa Maria dell’Oliveto or Santa Maria di Cicciano, in honour of the Mary to who is dedicated the nearby church.
The agricultural work in this area was based on the production of wheat, grapes and olive oil. These same old olive trees are still used today for the production of our high quality extra virgin olive oil.
To better support these activities around “Case Nucci”, in the 1600’s our family built a series of buildings, made in local stone, destinated to be storage for the harvest and the home for the farmer’s family. That’s what today we call “La Limonaia” (old storage for lemons), “Il Granaio” (the old storage for cropped wheat), and “Casa Boschetto” (the family house of our farmers back in the time).
These structures, recently refurbished, have became holiday houses to welcome people from all around the world and they have all the comfort of a modern house with the vintage style from that time.
To complete the fashinating stay at “Case Nucci” is the lush landscape surrounding the property and the short distance from interesting towns like Perugia, Assisi and Todi.

What makes this property unique

Private jacuzzi heated all year, private wine cellar carved into the rock.
